Ibis can be great. This one was not. They didn’t inspire confidence on arrival by not having the room types available despite booking them in January. One of the two rooms was supposed to be a twin but they’d replaced it with a double plus sofabed. The receptionist said the sofabed would be perfect for a teenager. That might have been right for a 5ft teenager. The room was also full of flies and so it was changed for a standard double. In that room the air con controls were hanging off the wall and worked only intermittently. In the other room the bathroom door didn’t shut and the shower didn’t stay in the holder. That’s perfect if you want to shower by holding the attachment. The lift remains a mystery. Getting it to go to the right floor quickly is a bit like cracking a safe. But if you’re in no rush it does the job. Come on ibis- you can do better. Look to your colleagues in nearby Langres who run a great hotel.

Fine for an overnight stopover on route to somewhere else. I was on the verge of four stars and it wasn't far from that but the room we stayed in could do with a little bit of attention. Could do with redecorating and the bathroom was a bit tired. The shower was decent though. It was also quite noisy on our corridor (not the hotels fault I know). The service was good though with friendly helpful staff on reception and a decent enough buffet style breakfast in the morning. The location is also quite good being about a 10 minute walk from the centre which is worth a visit. Parking was available I think for about 13 euro a night that my Dad pre booked.

Nice clean room in a modern hotel and good breakfast. Location is adjacent to 2 other hotels in the same group (another Ibis "styles" and a Mercure). One downside was that we had requested, via Booking.com, use of a parking space (12Euro/nt). However the hotel claim they never received the request and the parking was full (all 3 hotels use the same parking). BUT what they do not say is that there is a large public car park right next to the hotel and it is free from 7pm to 9am (if memory serves). Also the on-street parking next to the hotel is all free, if you can find a space! The hotel is about a 10-15 minute walk into the town centre, which is definitely worth it. There is a cinema and a Hippopotamus Steak restaurant around the back of the hotel, however can't recommend the other local fastfood outlets, avoid and head into town centre.

Positive...Good shower and friendly reception. Negative...12 euros to park overnight. USB charger in room was hanging off the wall and this is what travellers need and it was very noisy outside. Location was OK, only a 10 min walk to the centre.

No doubt the location of this hotel is a big asset when visiting Troyes. Parking is available at 12€/night. The old town and restaurants are at walking distance. Breakfast buffet offers a good choice of different food. On arrival you can choose to skip daily cleaning service and get some drinks for free. Never heard that one before. Friendly staff. Bar area could be more pleasant.
