We stayed here for 3 nights while in Johannesburg and, as always, had a wonderful stay. The hotel is right next to the Ferndale on Republic shopping centre where there are plenty of shops and restaurants. Walking to dinner takes only 5 minutes and you have a few options available. We needed to get a bit of laundry done and it was all done for us despite it being the weekend. There is also a generator on site, which automatically kicks in when there's a power cut and the rooms are comfortable and clean. We look forward to our next stay (hopefully next year)!

Have stayed several times at the Mercure Johannesburg Randburg and have always enjoyed my stay. Very convenient that there is a shopping mall just across the road.

The Mercure Randburg is officially our new place to stay when in joburg! The Facilities are nice and clean even the deco,colours are minimalistic. Security is perfect! The hotel is right next to the Malls, you can literally just leave your car and walk to the mall for shopping! They have a small garden area, great for relaxing time out of your room. Most of all customer service is top notch! A big thank you to Mr Thabo & Mr Lesedi, Mr Thato! They just went out of their way to make our stay comfortable and were very patient, as I had very specific needs for my room! and they helped us with other information we needed about the area!

We arrived quite late at night, and the security guard scanned our driver's licence and rego. We parked in front of the door to unload all our bags. Reception was unattended. Later on, we reached out to the guard at the gate to help us locate some staff who could help us complete the check-in. Reception had some tech issues getting door key cards to work as they kept on swooping over to get working ones. As we're a group of 4 travelling for nearly four weeks, we have a fair bit of bags. There are no trolleys, and bags have to be carried to level 2. The website allowed us to request interconnecting rooms, but apparently, this hotel does not have any interconnecting rooms. We're a family travelling 2 Adults and two teenage girls. Now we had to split up the Adults as the rooms we got were not even adjacent. The hostel was very noisy, with a lot of activity at night. Based on what we could see from our rooms and in the isles, there was some native initiation going on with people being blindfolded and dressed in gowns and being led in and out of various rooms. The room across from us was where most of the action took place with a stripper and whips etc. We arrived in our room. It was not clean, with lots of hair in the shower and no soap. The Bedding was torn with holes, and the Aircon was not working on a warm summer night. We were up early in the morning to do our final pack and headed out to buy things quickly at the nearby supermarket. Our key cards stopped working again. Reception asked me to leave it there while out shopping as they have a system issue and will get it fixed by the time we get back. Arrived back, got our keycards and checked out. The morning staff was a lot more attentive to issues and friendly compared to the evening experience we had

The clients that were blind folded it was the crew shooting Big Brothers Mzansi at Urban Brew Studios who stayed at the hotel for over 9 nights.
