My wife and daughter stayed here in October.They had to pay a bond on the room. We are still waiting for that refund.They had to go for business otherwise would avoid wellington.New Zealand in general is to expensive to far away from everything.You would be better going to south east Asia.I was born in NZ have been here for 64 years.

Stayed for 4 nights and was a great stay. The location is great and beds were comfy. Close to the Gondola and Mount Victoria. If you want to use the gym you are allowed to use the one at the Novotel which is close by. Amazing reception staff always happy to help. The house keeping was a bit average on some days as it took 2 days to clean the sink properly and remove some paper off the ground. Otherwise very hard to fault for the price paid.

Good location. Ideal for a short stay. Close to the railway station, especially if arriving on the Northern Explorer. Basic amenities sufficient to make one’s stay comfortable. Thunderbird cafe just opposite. Great for breakfast and a quick meal.

I stayed at the hotel for a work trip. The hotel was very centrally located close to many restaurants bars attractions. The restaurant had a decent menu and a good breakfast option which was included with the room. Room service is not available but you can call down to the restaurant and go and collect your meal. Using this option the meals are put on a tray with cutlery and everything is provided as though it were room service. I selected the larger room which was huge by hotel standards. The room was well fitted out with a an ironing board as well as a wall mounted TV with HDMI port accessible so I could attach my Google TV and watch programming from home. The only thing that was a bit disappointing was the hot water in the shower needed to be constantly adjusted during shower, so by the time you got to the end of the shower you needed to be in the fully hot position to maintain any temperature and you needed to adjust the hot water about 10 times in a 10 minute shower. The room is also missing safe which would’ve been a good addition and also no microwave oven.

Welcome and good times lie ahead as you enter the foyer . There you find reception, an interesting Hollywood prop, a bar and cafe that seem popular with an after work vibe. The duty manager quickly found our reservation and directed us upstairs The lift to the rooms is secure with your door card In your room everything is fresh and clean. Good use of eco friendly options in the bathroom, and a large comfortable bed . Big windows and a flat tv . Plenty of good hot drink options possible with what is supplied in the room. We would stay again when visiting Wellington. Another plus is that the Ibis is a short walk to the railway station with connections to the airport
