The manager in Dax shouted and was abusive towards me, ending up with him threatening me. Because I needed the door holding - I only have one arm. I have, of course, lodged an official complaint, too, but I doubt they'll listen. All this started after he left me stuck between the two sets off entry doors. He said he couldn't see me. However he had already acknowledged me because I had knocked on the door. The door had a strong spring and was designed for right handed people. I could open it, but not get my luggage through at the same time as I only have a left arm. All I wanted was some help with the door. But he disappeared for well over 5 minutes. I said, quite disgruntled, "you could have helped me I can't get through the door with my luggage!" to which he replied "what do you want, a (bloody) porter service, we're a budget hotel. go and find somewhere else. We don't want the likes of you here!. I don't have the space to detail the whole conversation. But he never stopped from that point onwards, mostly creating the argument all on his own! Then he was good to his word and with outstretched arms tried to push me out of the hotel. This is classed as violence in the UK. I think it is the same here. His wife came out, found me a room and told me that "it is best to give him some space when he gets like this. He will settle down." He clearly does this a lot. In the morning, I politely asked if I could speak with him. He blew up again. Instantly. He accused me of shouting at him. Well, this is physically impossible - my vocal cords are badly damaged!

One does expect a level of cleanliness and comfort. This hotel lacks those two requirements. Having travelled a little over 8 hours and utilised the automated check-in (which worked) we entered the room. Sadly the smell was intoxicating. We opened the window though it was chilly outside as it was past mid-night! The next nasty surprise was the bunk style upper bunk was covered with dog hairs as such we shared the base double bed with our son. After a couple of hours we awoke & decided to leave and continue our journey. While breakfast was included in the price, based on the hotel experience , eating there was not an option for us!

Perfect for a stop in our route. Easy to find, staff receptive and agile. We didn't want to waste time entering main cities to stop only to sleep, as we needed to head on early net morning. So this hotel had everything we needed.

Stopped here on a motorcycle tour, booked last minute. Room was clean enough, bathroom has seen better days. Staff were lovely, breakfast was ok. There's a great little restaurant next door though, so that was a nice find! I'd stay again but only because it's cheap. I wouldn't want to stay more than one night on my way to somewhere.

We arrived after a long drive at 22h00. When we entered our room the dirty towels where still in the bathroom and the garbage was in a bag on the toilet. The most disgusting however was the bed that looked as it was made, but when we removed the top sheet there was a dirty handkerchief of a previous visitor. Nobody at reception finally found a tel.nr. to get another room. This in Covid times is totaly unacceptable !!
