Unlike the California location, I was not greeted with my promised complimentary drinks. The bottles for refill were plastic in NY.

This is my all time favorite hotel in NYC and I’ve stayed here about 10 times. After the very successful and beautiful refurbishment the hotel and the rooms deserve another review. The rooms are simply stunning and bright and I love the new decor in the room. As always with Sofitel, attention to detail and perfection is everything and this hotel masters it! The staff is always helpful and make you feel welcome the second you arrive. I also love the location of the hotel - in the middle of everything and still a quiet street. Can’t wait to return again and again…and again.

Here now. Arrived at 9.30 with 3 small children. Emailed the hotel twice asking for an early check in if available. No response. We were told we might be able to check in 1.30, when we arrived. Went back at 12.10 to check status, were told 2pm, since they had just started working on the room. No one neither cared about our kids, nor even pretended to call housekeeping to expedite anything. My husband finally went back at 2.10 to tell them it does not take this long to turn around a small room; our only request was to have the sofa bed made. They said we’ll call housekeeping. It took 3 mins after that to get a phone call that our room was ready, which it probably was all along. Get into the room, and the one thing we had requested- the sofa bed- isn’t even done. Incompetent or uncaring, maybe both. On the upside the gentleman at the door is fantastic, and very personable.

After the absolute worst experience of booking a different hotel through Expedia and showing up after our flight with my eight family members only to find that Expedia never sent my reservation to that hotel I was left without anywhere to stay and had to scramble. After calling Expedia, I selected the Sofitel hotel and they assured me they had two rooms available. Then my entire family walked four blocks in the cold to the Sofitel hotel only to find out that the information Expedia gave me again was yet incorrect. After speaking with Miss Biju Gilbert Eddie, she was a complete godsend and worked magic and was able to get rooms for my family that not only were connecting, but on the same floor to accommodate all eight of us. She quickly recognized the mistake that Expedia made and worked diligently to rectify the situation.. She completely turned around a completely disastrous situation caused by Expedia. My family and I are in town for my father’s funeral and with it being Thanksgiving Day, I am TRULY thankful that I chose the Sofitel and was fortunate to meet with this amazing staff!!! 10 STARS!!!!⭐️ Thank you!!!
