The El Sombrero restaurant is situated in the same building as the ibis Saarbrücken City Hotel and offers superb Mexican cuisine. The venue is open daily from 5PM and seats up to 100 people and has a beautiful terrace.

I was in the school of training technical for auto , and I would like to be there again I still have enjoy myself with the river they said of the city 🏙️ and the city is beautiful also night there is a sports training session this year I will be going there for holiday.

Nothing special about it and nothing wrong with it in a city with fewer options than one might hope for. Location across the river from where all the action is, 15 minutes minimum walk. Friendly and helpful front desk staff, clean and functional rooms featuring the leak-prone shower doors one expects throughout Europe at this price point. Free on-street parking weekends and 8 pm to 8 am weekdays, 11€ for secure hotel parking. Okay Mexican restaurant within. The elevator begins up a short flight of stairs from entry level lobby.

Typical IBIS hotel, doesn't disapoint, neither it fully satisfy. This one is well placed, 10 min walk from the city, convenion free parking on the street on weekends. On the other hand, not the most comfortable beds. All in all, 1 night stay is fine.

This hotel is listed as a two star hotel, so I didn't expect much. The location, whilst usually quiet is vulnerable to noise from adjacent apartment buildings. I had to change rooms twice times: Once due to above mentioned noise, once due to a broken door lock. The third room had a broken bathroom light, which I had to leave door open to get some light to shower. Very run down hotel in desperate need of maintenance. However, the customer service, and especially that of the night porter Benedikt was exceptional. He went out of his way to provide a service that should be expected from a four star hotel.

Returned after many years absence

After spending some time in this hotel some years ago, I returned again for a three night stay. About a 15 minute walk from the train station, across the river Saar. Check-in was fast and receptionist friendly The first room I had was quite small and the bed not to comfortable. In the morning I asked if I could be moved to another room with a more comfortable bed. No sooner said than done, that quick. I appreciated the move from the original room to the new room. The room was clean, comfortable bed, free WiFi and flat screen TV. Also, an in-room safe. The bathroom was spotless, very clean. Breakfast was included in the price of the room and was buffet style. There was a nice variety of foods to choose from. It was a very nice stay, made even nicer by all the staff at the hotel. Hopefully I will have a chance to return for a third time.
