Hib2499 Solo travel - TripAdvisor review

Room dated but functional. Awesome tv. On e of the best I have had in a hotel. Aircon very loud but it worked well. Restaurant, if you can call it that, would have been better to go to Maccas. $10 cans of local beer??? I thought that must have been a mistake. Nope. Insane price. Ok, time to order food. All I wanted was a nice steak and salad. Told no steak at all (you would think that there would be steak due to steak being a staple of 99% of restaurants). Ok, lamb shanks. Nope. None of those either. Was told I could have lamb chops. Not on the menu but yep, I like lamb chops. They looked like and had the consistency of rubber. Had buffalo wings also. Frozen not freshly made. I am glad work paid for the food. Absolute disgrace. Food .5/10 (that’s point 5) Room 4/10

I had half a day before flying out in the morning. The room and bathroom were nice. I really enjoyed my steak but would have liked the restaurant to have a less ‘cafeteria’ look about it. Again, the staff were friendly.

Reception messed up with our Complimentary Drink, and my evening meal was inedible, promised a new meal but it was only warmed up. Second meal also inedible, ordered a bottle of wine and it was locked away in the store room, young New chap who was Trainee Manager went to a bottle shop to get us one, the Lady behind the bar from Vanuatu as also very good. Pool was not operating either.

Room was not very clean when we checked in. Hairs could be seen on bathroom walls. Room was not cleaned daily. A used spoon was not washed and only had one so didn’t have one for the following morning.
