The hotel has it character, it has a beautiful garden, the staff are so friendly Especially Esraa from guest relation she came and asked us if we need anything, and asked us if everything is ok with our accommodation

We arrived fresh from Sofitel Legend Old Cataract in Aswan, which was refurbished. Unfortunately Sofitel Winter Palace in Luxor is in dire need of an upgrade and repairs - which they mentioned will take place in about a year. I honestly felt that we were staying in a 2 star hotel as our room was sorely in need of better furnishings, with no place to hang our hotels in the bathroom. There were also 2 doors to get to our hotel room, as they did not remove the older one. It was inconvenient to have a very heavy metal key and keychain to our hotel room. Unfortunately, there is no restaurant open at lunch time - and we had to order room service when we got back from our tours at 2/3pm everyday. Kudos to the chef and F&B team - our breakfasts as well as room service food was delicious. We enjoyed the lemon juice with mint so much that we kept ordering it daily! The hotels saving grace is that they have a beautiful garden - with peacocks and flamingos as well. Do take a stroll through their garden in the evenings. Do take a look at how Sofitel updated their rooms and lobby in Aswan. I hope that the team will be open to this feedback and look forward to visiting again once they've undergone renovations.

If you ask anyone in Luxor which’s the best hotel in town the only answer the give you is The Winter Palace. It old charm and excellent service and attention to detail makes feel very important and at home. The breakfast is very good value for money and worth including it when booking. For a little extra choose a room with a balcony over looking the Nile. The gardens are a must see just to visit the resident flamingos. The pool is big and good for families with children. There are four restaurants ranging from fine dining to a burger by the pool.

We came for see the room of the king and Mohamed Salah was extremelly polite and show us all the hotel with a lot of patience. We will really recommend to come to visit and stay. It is an amazing place!!
