We booked into restaurant for a family members special 40th birthday dinner, arrived at the Novotel property, very impressive, this all looked very promising. Upon arrival stood at entrance to restaurant eventually someone told us to sit at any table and instructed us you order food at the till help yourself to cutlery, not the attentive service one would hope for. It was a Monday night so may be due. to being short handed. The restaurant is promoted as being a genuine Mediterranean experience. What a joke, the charcuterie board consisted of a couple of cold meats and cheese direct from the supermarket deli, very ordinary! All the main meals were at best poor cafe standard,, reminded me of school meals. If ever there was a case for a visit from the undercover boss this is it! I can’t believe management are aware of how poor the service and food is, if the do and refuse to do anything about it, shame on you. I will no doubt get a corporate response to this post full of platitudes. Please just do something to rescue this fantastic venue and deliver your guests a great experience.

The Novetel Twin Waters isn't 5 Star however its a perfect destination for families with kids or teenagers as there is so much for them to do and get tired out! The pool is huge and has a nearby bar for the parents to grab a drink or something to eat, such as chips or a burger. There are plenty of lounges and places to sit. The rooms are nothing flash. We were in an unrenovated room, but it was large. Beds were comfortable, huges shower and bsthroom, microwave, fridge and amenities. There is a daily service to clean the room and change towels. The nature of the property is amazing, with beautiful plants and kangaroos and bush turkeys running around, which the kids will love! There are lots of free activities such as kyaking and sail boating on the lake. There is a beach closeb accessible via a path that takes about 8 min walk. Although the beach can get very rough, be careful with young kids. They will love the sand, so take the sandcastle making equipment. We were very disappointed in the restaurant..it took forever for us to get our food and it was just so bad (over cooked) and cheap ingredients we could barely eat it. The next night, we drove to a nearby restaurant for dinner, and it was amazing. There are loads of cafes and food outlets in the local area. Overall, it was a great place to stay and have some fun in the sun, sea and pool. Enjoy

We booked our holiday before Cyclone Alfred was predicted and were initially offered the option to rebook. However, the manager later called and assured us that if we extended our stay by an extra night, all meals would be complimentary. Based on this verbal agreement, we decided to spend the extra money and proceed with our trip. Unfortunately, the hotel management did not honor their promise. From Saturday lunch onward, meals were no longer complimentary, despite the commitment made to us. Additionally, all hotel amenities were closed on Friday, which we were not informed of in advance. When we approached management to discuss the issue, they were unwilling to engage in a conversation or find a resolution. We feel completely misled and deceived by Novotel’s management. The lack of integrity and poor communication left us deeply disappointed. We expected better from a reputable establishment and would not have extended our stay had we known they would not uphold their agreement.

Bed bugs!!!

We had bed bugs!!!! We stayed in room 405. I have sent three emails to let them know and I have had no response from them! You would think this is something they’d like to get to the bottom of. The resort is ok, nothing special. Would stay in Maroochydore next time.

Disappointing. Not what we wanted for our 50th Wedding Anniversay

Very disappointing seeing as this was described as LUXURY. We booked this as part of our 50th Wedding Anniversary. The reception area and pool area have been done very nicely. Some of the rooms have been refurbished!! Our booking was through Luxury Escapes. When we booked in we were given a map and told which car park to go to. We drove there but could not find our room, ( the signage around the place is terrible) We then had to find our way back to reception, we were then taken by buggy to our room as we were told it was down a secret passage. When we finally found our room, in the dark and having to use our phones as torches it was nothing like advertised, the view (or lack of it) was depicted as a full-on view of the lagoon and was advertised as an executive lagoon view room, our room you had to go to the window and turn your head 180 degrees to see the lagoon (not happy). So it was back to reception and a complaint to the manager. He said this was the standard of room booked by Luxury Escapes that they used and admitted there had been a lot of complaints about Luxury Escapes bookings. I can see why. The manager said he didn’t have any better rooms for that night but would see what could be done in the morning. He then offered to show us 2 other rooms for the night at the other end of the establishment. We were driven there and shown the rooms, neither were brilliant but we said we would take the larger room for the night, not the best as it had the smell of a room that hadn’t been used for sometime. This area certainly needs updating as it must be 20+ years old since it was last done. We were driven back to reception to get the keys and drove back to the room, more by luck than the signage. By this time we were exhausted and starving after a busy day and could of done without this. To get something to eat we decided to walk to reception where the dining is. Big mistake again, we followed the signs for reception only to get part the way along there pathway in the dark for the signs to run out and the one one the other side of the road saying “Convention Centre” (no mention of reception). Fortunately some other guests came along and said you have to go past the Convention centre sign and reception was past that. We finally found that and got something to eat. The following morning we had a phone call to say another room had been found for us and we could move once it was ready. We returned to reception at lunchtime and were given the keys to an Executive Lagoon View Room. It was close to reception and easier to find. It was a nice room with an excellent view of the Lagoon (just like the one Luxury Escapes advertise). Not exactly large but a lot better than we had so far been offered. I cannot believe though that this was renovated to executive status who ever over saw the work sure didn’t check very well. The TV id not central on the wall panel and the bathroom very badly grouted some missing and the other was so rough an amateur had obviously done it, all round the floor is that rough, and the surface of the Vanity area is all lifting. Again not what I would call a Luxury Escape. The next morning they came early to service the room and we had to say we were going out in about an hour. We were out for most of the day but on return were disappointed to find the room had not been serviced well. In the area where the kettle is there was still pieces of paper that had come off sachets, the coffee cups had not been washed properly and still had stains round them, the floor was dirty as was the bathroom floor, it would appear they only changed towels and loo rolls. We must say that staff were very pleasant and helpful, but they all agreed that the signage is terrible and causes a lot of problems. In view of what we had booked this for it was very disappointing and not the memory we wanted. Some of the blame for this must be accepted by Luxury Escapes for false advertising. I will be reluctant to book with either establishment again.
