Nothing special, you know what you’re going to get. Small rooms with comfortable bed and decent breakfast. Expensive for what it is.

One night emergency stay that was excellent.

In August 31 we, along with 13 others on in a bike tour group and many others from a. River tour group, were booked into a different hotel in Blois but had to be relocated due to a fire around 18:30 that evening. The Mercury staff quickly arranged to take all of us n very short notice and helped immensely to save many people’s vacations. Especially noteworthy was Daniel, the manager on duty that night, who was key to the coordination with the hotel that had the fire and the tours. Well done!

I was there on a Globus tour. The accommodation was clean, spacious and the A/C worked. It was very warm so glad to have A/C. The breakfast was also very good with lots of options; however, the bacon was a bit on the gray side. All else very nice.

To begin on a positive note - the staff we met were very friendly. However, I’m sorry to say but this hotel is in a terrible state, unclean room (the bedding was clean), the carpet is old and dated and this includes the furniture in the room as well. There were ants in the room, cobwebs and spiders. The bathroom, albeit small, was clean. I couldn’t wait to leave. I’m sorry for this negative review as the hotel is in a wonderful location, I only hope the management can try to change and rectify some of the problems. I think the staff deserve to work in a better environment, and visitors need somewhere cleaner and more modern to stay.

We were on a tour of the area and this was an excellent base; the room was quiet, beds comfy, wifi and shower worked well, food good for a hotel and service excellent throughout. Indoor pool was a real bonus. The hotel is a short walk from the centre of Blois and opposite the tree lined Loire river; perfect. Would go back.
