Care and comfort for our Christmas 2025 in Ajaccio.

I stayed a week at the Mercure in Ajaccio. We can't thank the reception staff enough for their assistance and advice. This was especially in relation to my partner's case that was mislaid by Air France on a leg of the outward flight. We arrived late at night in an anxious state after the necessary reports were completed. Thereafter, the staff helped to ensure it's safe delivery and later advised on local transport, taxi booking, a good Corsican restaurant and other details to make our stay a memorable Christmas. The room was clean & comfortable & we were pleased with the view out across the harbour boats, both during daylight hours and after dark. Location - wise, it was ideal that we were close to the city centre for shops, market, transport, seasonal music and the collections at the Art Museum. Our one quibble was Express Breakfast. After booking it on our first morning, we thereafter patronised the Boulangerie next door which we found was better value!

It is 20, 30 minutes to walk to city center. Room is very small. We barely fit inside and hardly opened our luggages. Bathroom is clean and relatively more spacious than the room. You can find parking space along the street. Employees are not customer centric. My biggest disappointment is they are renting pool towels for 10 Euros per day. There was a writing that you can change your towel in every 3 days. For me unacceptable and enough not to consider this place again. Wifi works well.

Review Dear Jean Marc Santarelli Thanks for requesting a review, we would have liked the opportunity to meet you face to face during our visit which we had requested. Unfortunately the request was initially refused. Therefore, I’d given my personal email requesting maybe we could arrange something between ourselves. I can only assume that also didn’t take place. The second day into our visit we were advised you would meet us for a coffee the next day, which also didn’t materialise. At this point we presumed there was no intention to meet us which we found both rude and disappointing. The front desk manager was at best off hand with us, however, Enzo was extremely helpful and pleasant. Thank you Enzo With respect to our visit we thoroughly enjoyed with a few exceptions. The room upgrade was very much appreciated, thank you for that. We were a little surprised as a Accor Platinum member to find out the hotel only offers one welcome drink for a booking of two. In our experience typically two drinks would have been provided. The bar opening hours also seemed a little limited also. To add to our disappointment the hotel through out our visit was unable to provide ice for us. At one point to our shock it was suggested we go to the shop and buy some and the hotel would put it in the freezer for us. Which being blunt for a 4 star hotel we don’t feel this an appropriate approach. It became obvious 5 days into the holiday the pool needed attention. This was identified by Marie-Xaviere Pinelli. The solution was to throw a robotic type machine into the pool and call the pool man. There was no indication if the pool was then closed, we presumed it was. This at early afternoon and remained the situation (4 hours) until the pool man arrived. Again not the expectation from a 4 star facility. Overall, we didn’t feel the experience met a 4 star Accor facility.

Very much out of town 15 euro taxi to restaurants each way .nothing near hotel apart from small supermarket andpoor bakery . Breakfast was good with 2 pleasant ladies . €5fora beach towel of poor. Quality ,not refundable ! Small shallow pool.Reception staff were not the best . Would not recommend as other hotels seemed more attractive .

TO REACH THE NEAREST RESTAURANTS YOU NEED TO WALK FOR 5 MINUTES OR TAKE A BUS FOR ONE EURO PER PERSON AS WE DO NOT CONTROL THE TAXI RATES IN AJACCIO. THE POOL AND JACUZZI WAS DESINED ACCORDING TO THE USUABLE SURFACE FOR THAT. WE HAVE LOVELY STAFF IN OUR FRONT DESK WHO APPLY THE MANAGEMENT'S DECISIONS AND THE ACCOR GROUP STANDARDS. WE HOPE TO SEE YOU SOON IN OUR PROPERTY.
