Unacceptable for a Novotel

Too many points to list but i would like to discuss this with senior management. The manager and staff of the establishment we stayed at are the problem and if left unchecked - will damage the reputation of Novotel. 45 min wait between courses Food delivered separately with huge time gaps between (food ordered was uncooked or flash seared only - blue steak). 3 child high-chairs (only one had baby tray attachment) Treated like formula one guests with regard to breakfast & pet supplement (despite selecting this in the booking it was not included) There is more but i dont want to write all day and would rather discuss this all with an area manager. We use Novotel and expect a certain level of service - this hotel fell well short of the standards we expect - a deep look into the running of the establishment needs to be performed if it desirable that this doesn’t tarnish the Novotel good name. I hope you do fix this, it has certainly had an effect on my opinion on the hotel chain

Dear Guest, Thank you again for your feedback. We would like to clarify a few points to provide greater transparency. As discussed, the waiting time between courses was not 45 minutes but rather approximately 15 minutes between ordering and serving the starters, 30 minutes between the starters and main courses (including clearing), and 10 minutes between clearing the main courses and serving the desserts. Additionally, at no point did you inform us about receiving cold dishes or a “blue” steak, and you finished your plates, which suggests that the quality was acceptable. Regarding child equipment, we do have one baby high chair, three baby seats, and three child chairs available. During peak demand, some waiting time may unfortunately occur. Lastly, the booking you made through another site did not include breakfast nor a pet supplement. My colleague simply requested payment accordingly. 1 night stay as part of a group of 25. Hotel - Good location just off the motorway for somewhere to stop on a long journey. Room - Good sized room, Layout with the toilet separate to the bathroom not to my personal liking. Cleanliness ok although not 4* as some of the light switches looked a bit greasy when I first entered the room. That being said it wasn't dirty. Service - receptionists on the evening and morning were friendly. Food - we ate dinner there which was full of flavour and breakfast which was a good choice. Although I believe there were a couple of issues with the hot drinks machine and toaster not working. Sadly the service received from the bar staff and restaurant wasn't to standard and customer service training needs to be looked at it in this area. Maybe it was because the hotel was full and we were a big party and they felt under pressure. I felt we were an inconvenience. Wasn't sure where the breakfast was and so went towards the area and was greeted with a curt "No". One of the party had an issue with turning off the orange juice tap which meant it spilt everywhere. Do realise it's an inconvenience cleaning it up but the staff member looked at them and me (as I was trying to help) as if we had done it on purpose. Even ordering drinks at the bar the staff didn't appear to want to serve us. I tried to speak the local language to build a a bit of a rapport but got nothing in return. Shame.

Stop over on the way to Val D’Isere

25 minute walk to downtown Beaune but handy for the motorway and close to Carrefour for pre-ski shopping and a nice boulangerie is nearby if you haven’t booked breakfast. A clean hotel that does what it says on the tin. There is a lot of competition nearby but we were happy with our choice.

You can enjoy our buffet breakfast, the City Breakfast at the bar for just 8.30 euros per person, or a coffee and croissant for 4 euros. Stop from south of France on the way back to London

Perfect place to stop on the way back from south of France . Hotel is very nice and 2mins drive from motorway and 5mins drive from city which is beautiful. Hotel is clean, staff are very efficient, top pool and perfect breakfast. Very good for children, ours lived it.

Atrocious restaurant experience !

Useful location just off motorway & has a pool that’s good in the summer. Pricey for a Novotel but we stayed in high season. I’m only leaving this review to say DON’T EAT AT THE RESTAURANT! We waited over 2 hours for 1 course & ice cream with 2 kids & staff were rude & unhelpful - it wasn’t even that busy! Crap service usually does not bother me but this was next level. We were staying here to break a long journey in half & just wanted to eat & go to bed. The length of wait for utterly mediocre overpriced food was insane. We almost split & went to the McDonald’s just up the road after 40 minutes of sitting there & not even being offered a drink - wish we had! BE WARNED!
