This hotel is located strategically in the very centre of Ghent. The staff were quite helpful,breakfast was fabulous, room was clean. But, first,although they claim that they provide parking ,there are only 13 spaces! Second, their double room is too small for two people. Third and most important ,their towels were in an extremely worn- out condition ( photo with the hole!!) ,didn't look or smell fresh. Damages around the doors should have been taken care off ....yesterday. For me, these are not minor details for a hotel that charges almost €150 per night!!!

i booked this hotel. tried to cancel. it kept failing. i was charged about 135 euros without making the trip at all. visa was denied. i supplied all these evidence. and it didn't matter to them. just ridiculous to me. they're just about the money. my second hotel cancelled by booking without charges once they saw my visa refusal letter.

Perfectly situated in central Ghent next door to St. Baaf’s cathedral, this 3* hotel is unpretentious but an excellent base for seeing around this lovely city. Rooms are small and lack many extras - no safe, fridge, armchair, drawers, or tea-making facility,and very limited clothes hanging space. But what there is is clean, modern, and in very good condition. Good, easy to operate shower, though no bath of course. Unlike many hotels the air conditioning works and is easy to adjust. WiFi is ample and strong. Staff were always helpful. Breakfast was surprisingly extensive for this kind of hotel in this part of Europe. Good value and outstanding location.

We stayed 3 nights on a Winter Sale deal, direct from the hotel. This was great value. The central location was excellent for exploring the lovely city of Gent, both by foot and public transport (the Gent 3 day card including transport worked out well). We requested a quiet room at the back, and it was noted and arranged. Staff were also helpful in terms of arraning use of the security box at reception (there was no safe in the room). We went for the Premium room and it was very large, though a bit oddly laid out, particularly in the bathroom with the toilet very cramped, facing a wal. Decor was dated. The bed was comfortable, and the room clean. There was a kettle, though only paper cups (we bought some mugs). There was no mini-fridge. The breakfast was better than we expected for a budget hotel, with a lot more granola options than is typical, though it is still very much a budget style offering. The breakfast room has a better view than many, with seats in the bar, which overlooks the Cathedral. The bar itself was quiet quiet when we were there but we did use it, particularly the first night when we were tired, and we enjoyed the very reasonable Leffe beer tasting offer. The bar lady was very friendly. Though we did find the room quiet in terms of outside noise, there was a bit of noise from other rooms moving their chairs! Another review mentioned this also and a suggestion would be to felt pads or similar on the chair legs.

Very noisy, disruptive guests created a miserable experience. A group of around 30 men, were very loud, shouting, roaring and banging the walls through the night. I called reception around 0400 the first evening to request intervention. The following night, the exact same problem. The hotel staff were not proactive to manage this ‘lads tour’ that behaved like a mix of a stag party and school boys on their first ever school trip, away from parents. I return to Gent for business again next week, I shall not be staying with Ibis again.
