A comfortable Ibis hotel located right by the bus and railway station, opposite the city walls. Convenient for transport options for visiting the region and only about a 20 minute slow meander from the Papal Palace, cathedral and other sights of the city. The room was small, bur comfortable, quiet and with an excellent view across to the old walls. Staff were all very friendly and welcoming and even let me check in really early. Breakfast selection was good and fresh.

Situated right next door to Avignon train station and opposite the main gates in to the city, this turned out to be a nice stop over for a couple of nights. Main entrance was not obvious due to building work outside the train station and is actually up some stairs or a lift but I found it by walking up the car ramp into the car park . Rooms small but comfy and just across the road in to the walled city. Actually had dinner as part of our package which wasn't the greatest but our hostess, Karima, due to language barrier tried her best to get things right for us which she did.

Room very comfortable. Nice courtyard to sit in and have a coffee and write in your travel journal. Well situated in the town. Not far from train station. The walled city is right across the street. Easy walking, flat.

I would like to praise Daniel at Ibis Avignon for his help! His effort deserves huge applause. He went extra miles to help me during my stay in Ibis. I will highly recommended Hotel Ibis Avignon Centre Gare. Daniel helped me a lot when I have to cancel my trip Avignon because of the strikes in France. He knows and understands my situation. I will definitely go back to Avignon next time when things are more settled in France.

Stayed at this hotel for a week recently. The hotel is situated between the train station and bus station in Avignon. The vicinity of the hotel is fairly ugly and there appears to be a long-term building site to the front and in front of the train station. So every time you walk into town you have to walk through this building site. As some have already written, it is not great after dark, with some dubious characters hanging around and it is surprisingly very dark considering it is so close to the station. The hotel itself is unusual as you have to get a lift up to the reception floor although this is where the lift ends, so bear that in mind if you have a room on a higher floor. The rooms are quite small although they are cleaned to a high standard and the bathroom is good. The windows are well-insulated so no noise from outside from the trains or traffic. The restaurant is small and we were often told that it was full up until about 9pm because a group was dining there, so unfortunately still had to walk into town to eat so you cannot rely on the hotel restaurant. There are a few restaurants of variable quality within ten minutes walk, but a longer walk about twenty minutes up to the main square although again these are mainly overpriced tourist restaurants rather than local French ones. Overall, the hotel is in a good position to do daytrips by train to Nimes, Arles and Orange. Avignon itself you can see in about a day.
