We wanted to visit the Christmas markets in Strasbourg and knew this hotel was in an excellent location. What is important to note is that we learnt the hard way it is NOT car friendly (i.e. it was not clearly referenced anywhere) that we needed to reserve a parking spot if we had a car (and also to note you have to cross the tramlines to get to the car park so be warned). When we initially arrived at the hotel on the evening of Saturday 20 December I was rudely welcomed by the lady at reception who pretty much said it was my problem and that we would need to park elsewhere. She recommend somewhere but that was full. Fortunately we know Strasbourg enough so went out of the city to a park and ride. If you have a car and don't know the city I would advise against this hotel. The rooms were acceptable and what one expects from an Ibis so no complaints about that - bed (although not the most comfortable compared to other Ibis) and a clean bathroom. Unfortunately the room we were in you had to go up the lift and then still take stairs...this was very frustrating with our suitcases. The walls are also paper thin so you can hear everything in rooms next door (including things you or children don't want to hear). The breakfast was also not the best I have experienced from any Ibis in terms of customer service or food selection and quality. As a Diamond member of the Accor All club I have stayed in a number of Ibis hotels across the globe and comparing Ibis with Ibis this was by far one of the bottom of the list. I would personally not recommend. Customer service needs a lot of work.

The rooms were fine and clean. The hotel was well managed and in a strategic position. The staff was very welcoming and available, especially Safia, who treated us very well.

Very good location.close to train station, close to historic old town. Clean and modern room .good service . A suggest to have a portable water boiler.

Overpriced hotel with small bedrooms and even smaller bathrooms. Very very basic facilities.my room was as the front and as a consequence very noisy due to the tram line despite the window being closed. The cooling system was set at its lowest level but the room was still too hot at night. There are far better and cheaper hotels around just avoid weeks when Parliament is sitting. I would not stay here again.

Strasbourg is a wonderful city to visit.

We picked this hotel for its location, which is good, and for its price, which is O.K. The room we were given was in the annex, which felt a little bit run down. Our bedside lights didn’t work for our stay, despite telling reception that they were not working. The shower in the bathroom was not directly walk-in, there was a small step into it — small gripe, but I currently need a walking stick, so I noticed. Overall the room was clean and the staff were friendly, we went into booking this hotel with our eyes open: it’s a big chain, it’s an Ibis, you get what you pay for. If you do stay here try the Kitch’n bar on the corner of the street (about 1 minute walk — turn left as you exit the hotel), it’s a nice local experience, with views of the river and a buzzy atmosphere.
