Hotel Mercure Paris Gare Montparnasse 4 gwiazdki

The staff is nice and helpful, a little too casual though. Breakfast is substandard (overcooked sausage, smelly fruit salad, 3 days in a row ...!).But overall, my room had constant smell of sewage, night and day, A real inconvenience!

Chosen for location to Blvd Montparnasse and private parking. Car park was full when arrived but got space late eve. Problems getting out following day as gate wouldn’t open. Staff helpful both times!

Anthony at the front desk made this a memorable stay. His professionalism, knowledge, and responsiveness were outstanding. The hotel itself has a wonderful location in a vibrant yet quiet location near Montparnasse. The buffet breakfast offers an array of excellent choices in as very comfortable setting. The rooms are fine.

Hotel spełniał wszystkie moje oczekiwania poza wielkością pokoju, która wydawała się mniejsza niż prezentowane na zdjęciach. Ogólne wrażenie pozytywne, czysto, schludnie, miło. Jednakże wynajęte zostały dwa pokoje dla dwóch rodzin. Z powodu bardzo poważnego urazu i operacji, jedna z rodzin nie mogła przyjechać. Mimo dokumentacji medycznej którą wysyłałem, a która jednoznacznie wskazywała na brak możliwości chodzenia przez najbliższych kilka miesięcy, dyrekcja hotelu zaproponowała przesunięcie rezerwacji o 3 m-ce, co oczywiście było nie możliwe do zrealizowania. Nie było możliwości rezygnacji z rezerwacji nawet w tak wyjątkowej sytuacji. Mimo wielu pozytywów hotelu i obsługi, z uwagi na brak empatii ze strony dyrekcji, z pewnością nie będę polecał tego hotelu znajomym, sam również nie skorzystam więcej z jego usług.

We have stayed here several times as we like the neighborhood and its convenient location near the airport bus halt. The rooms are being renovated and the construction work made for some inconvenience and noise. For Paris, the rooms are of decent size. The price was exceptionally low and an excellent breakfast was included.

Centrally located easy access (walking distance) to metro, good restaurants, train station, supermarkets. Good breakfast in hotel and around the hotel. Room comfortable, however the one I occupied was tight courters.

I have used this hotel several times. It is within walking distance of Montparnasse Station. Note the main railway station is having a major makeover and line 4 of the metro does not have an exit at Gare du Nord because of separate works there. The hotel's Reception has been reshaped and is less cluttered than before. Reception shares imperceptibly the ground floor with the Bar, restaurant and workin area. Friendly staff, bilingual if your French is modest. My room 207 had been modernised, and with two heavy beds. Comfortable and spacious. Bathroom had a walkin shower. Good but without support bar, so take care in getting in/out. Though the room had air conditioning, I did not understand the control on the wall. Neither could I get the temperature in the room down to remotely cool. Hot on both nights and, on the second, had to take the duvet out of its cover and to sleep under just the cover. Just bearable

The hotel is very nice and in a great location. Staff is very friendly and helpful. All great, but above the door in room 620 there was an additional air inlet into the room that I could not control via an aircon panel on the wall next to the bathroom. Moreover, at some point early on Friday around 7am-7.30am an air getting out of this vent smelled not nicely. Having had a Gold status membership, I would have hoped my room was upgraded into the next level.

The reception area - indeed the whole of the ground floor - has had a make-over since my last stay a few months back. This make-over includes the staff. Gone are the smart suits/crisp skirts and tops and, in their place, has come a denim-shirt look making the staff indistinguishable from guests. As for the layout and décor: the layout is now somewhat confused/confusing as the bar seems to have been fused into the reception desk whilst the new ceiling-less look of the general area, exposing all the pipes and services painted black, seems a rather dated throw-back to the 80s or 90s. As for the rooms and location, all remain unchanged: the rooms are still very comfortable and clean with 2 lifts servicing the 6 floors whilst the location is easily accessible from several metro lines and retains a wide mixture of busy restaurants, theatres and some lower establishments.

Very welcoming relaxed atmosphere, funky bar and breakfast area and an excellent restaurant. Charming staff who genuinely seemed pleased to welcome their guests and make them comfortable. Some rooms refurbished however those which are not are dated and rather tired.

This is an excellent hotel in the middle of the cultural centre of Montparnasse, with typical Parisian theatres, good restaurants and bars. On the nearby Boulevard Edgar Quinet there is a busy food market on Saturdays and an art market on Sundays, with many, many artists selling their work.

We stayed 2 days in this hotel which is very will located near the Montparnasse Towel and Bobino Theater. The hotel was clean. The people working in the hotel were smart and sympathetic. We can easily recommend this location if you want to go downtown

This hotel is very close to numerous cafes, brasseries and creperies, all close by in the streets of Montparnasse. Both the Tour Montparnasse and the Cemetery (well worth a visit) are only a few minutes walk away. There are several metro stations close by too if needed (though many parts of Paris are walkable). Staff were friendly and helpful. Only two small negatives - our room had not been fully serviced when we checked in, secondly the bar/restaurant doesn't open on Sundays (but there's plenty of local establishments worth trying instead).

I have stayed at other Mecure hotels and this one did not match up. The paint was pealing off the walls in the bathroom. The restaurant never provided any service and after a 30 minute wait we walked out. They got the billing wrong. The Mecure in Chartres was much better.
