A very decent hotel , near Neuchatel - Sept 2024.

A business trip in Sept in the area of Neuchatel, and this hotel was the one booked for us. So here are the findings and my thoughts about this hotel. Location - just outside the city of Neuchatel, about 6 km from the city center, right next to the highway. A very generous parking lot in front and to the side of the hotel provides the spot to park your vehicle. Not very big in size - but with a very good number of rooms , so even if you a travelling with a larger group it can be a good option. Check-in and check-out went very smooth and easy, front desk staff had a professional approach, and the communication in English language went easily. The room that I've got was big, by all standards , and with a generous size bathroom - both the room and the bathroom were very clean. Breakfast is another item I would like to highlight - it was fairly basic, but with very good choices available and consisting of quality products - from my perspective even if you stay a week at this place you will still be able to pot together a very good combo for breakfast and not get bored of what is being served. Prices - well once again the prices are "Swiss" so even if this could be considered a budget hotel, the prices are aligned with the pricing in Switzerland. Overall a very good, just outside of Neuchatel, but if you are not looking for anything fancy this may be just the right option for you.

We spent one night in this hotel. We felt humiliated The price was kind of too high for a 2 stars hotel anyway we reserved. There was no option for elevator to the second floor and we had to carry our large suitcases through the stairs The matress was the worst we have slept on, for years The curtain in the shower is not really a way to stop the water from being spelt over the whole floor - even "a half a star" hotels are using glass walls to do it. Look for another hotel to spend the night

Fine for overnight on A5

This quiet hotel is ideally situated for an overnight stop when travelling on the A5 as it is right alongside the motorway, but is not suitable for those without their own transport as the nearest railway station is 2km away down a country road, half of which does not have a pavement, and busses to the stop 200m away are infrequent and do not run after 6.30 p.m. or at all on Sundays. The staff are efficient, friendly, and cheerfully helpful, but their knowledge of English appears to be very limited, their language of choice being French. Those of you who have used Premier Inns will know the sort of thing to expect - an en suite room with a king-size double bed, space to hang your clothes, a settee, chair and table. The TV is slightly smaller than PI ones and there are no tea-making facilities. However, the bar on the ground floor is open 24/7. As far as I am aware there is no lift to the upper floor. The continental style breakfast is taken in the light and airy dining room adjoining the bar, but there is no cooked food, although facilities exist to boil eggs or bake waffles. The hotel literature says that a very limited range of hot snacks are available 24/7, but I did not verify this. There is a computer available to guests provided they understand French. All in all this is a quite suitable hotel for an overnight stop when in the Neuchatel area.
