Where to start. I must say the staff were very helpful during our 3 day stay. Unfortunately,that’s where it ended. The hotel is old and dated. Of the 4 lifts, only 2 were operating and during peak times, waiting for up to 10 minutes for the lift is ridiculous! Really…why not operate all 4? The pool and spa area is old. Cracked tiles, scum around the spa. Lack of atmosphere.The Sofitel is supposed to be a luxury hotel! What about having a waiter around the pool area, offering drinks orders or finger food? It really is lacking in any customer service or enticing clients to stay and enjoy the facilities. I have spent many times enjoying international hotels where my every need is met. Drinks by the pool, food if I felt like it. Great atmosphere. Maybe Accor need to take a leaf out of some of the hotels that offer these services. There was nothing to entice us to linger longer at the hotel. Coffee or tea, or even a drink or cocktail? Well, there is nothing on offer until later in the day. For a luxury hotel, that just seems ludicrous to me! The only option for a drink during the day was a small, dark and dingy bar area full of pokies and gambling. We expected a higher standard from the Sofitel. Needless to say, we won’t be back.

Everything is so worthwhile to stay here, the rooms are extremely comfortable with fantastic beds, pillows and nice facilities. The hotel restaurant and bar is amazing and very reasonably priced. Bar staff were extremely helpful mixing up creative cocktails to suit (from less than $20 which is ching for this standard of hotel and service) . Hotel staff were all very helpful.

I stayed here for 2 nights prior to a hospital admission and just wanting a little luxury. Unfortunately there is something terribly wrong at Sofitel Broadbeach. It is a sub standard experience and appears to continue to provide a quarantine hotel level experience. On arrival waited 10mins for valet parking. Never arrived. Had to go and check in and then ask about valet. No-one to take bags to room. No orientation to hotel. Room was a lovely corner room with ‘sea views’ (water glimpses) from balcony. However the 2 blinds were broken. The material appeared to have perished (see photo) and so couldn’t close the blinds- night lights and morning sunrise sleep disturbance. Room service night 1 took over an hour for a bowl of soup and fruit plate. I complained about this. Oops, shouldn’t have complained because cook (I wouldn’t say chef) provided the most disgusting club sandwich I’ve ever seen- I didn’t eat it because I didn’t know what else has been done to it (see photo). I will never stay at this hotel again.

Perfect Stay in Broadbeach

We spent the night for a staycation and were extremely happy !! Jonathon, the Concierge offered Champagne on arrival, extremely easy check in by Allise, who was also kind enough to offer late checkout, and Anthony (pronounced Antony) offered interesting conversation and a nice glass of Rose in the bar. This hotel is really in the heart of Broadbeach and we loved our stay. Everything within walking distance and our room had lovely views over the ocean.

Need to Step Up there Game

We have stayed in most of the Sofitels in New Zealand and Australia and this Sofitel has to be the worst. It was like we were staying in a 3 star hotel. When we asked to have our room upgraded they were not helpful and lied to me on several occasions as a Platinum member you are entitled to get a complimentary upgrade if available which they told me it was available when they thought I was going to pay for it then realized I was a Platinum member then they lied and said nothing was available. To make things worse I ended up using my suite upgrade then they charged me for it which put my account in negative occurring fees after taking a while to refund me... This Sofitel has no lounge and the benefits for Platinum are not worth it. TO SAY WE WERE DISSAPOINTED IS AN UNDERSTATEMENT!!!!
