Striking hotel with good service

Located at the city centre water basin, this hotel has a striking interior that on one hand looks as a rarity shop and on the other hand is a hotel that serves you well. Nowhere in the lobby or the breakfast room can you find the same chair or table. Bar and reception are integrated and there are several play tables. Still, it is not that disturbing that you get lost. The rooms are relatively easy-going compared to the rest of the hotel. Sufficiently spacious and a good bed and shower. Breakfast is also good and again alternative - you can bake your own eggs. Staff is young but knows what to do. Only comment: small and slow elevator cabins.

Old property needs renovation and better maintenance

The hotel is an old property that needs a complete renovation. It also has lack of maintenance. For the services offered I would not give 4 stars but at maximum 3 stars category. The positive point was Catarina on the front desk, she was very kind.

Friendly Staff, but the Hotel Needs Serious Renovation

We were fortunate to stay at this hotel for only two nights. From the moment we arrived, the overall impression was disappointing. The building and interior are clearly outdated and poorly maintained. The room felt old, the furnishings were worn and unattractive, and the overall atmosphere was far from comfortable. The furniture was tired, the bathroom didn't feel properly clean, and the room lacked the basic sense of comfort and cleanliness you’d expect, even from budget accommodation. The hotel is in desperate need of renovation and more attention to detail – in its current state, it simply doesn’t meet modern standards. On a more positive note, the staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay, and the breakfast was actually quite good – fresh pastries, fruit, and a basic but decent selection that was well prepared. Despite these few positives, the overall experience was disappointing, and we would not choose to stay here again. There are definitely better options available in the area for a similar price.

Centrally located nice hotel

I always find the Mercure chain very efficient and comfortable. This hotel was the same with an excellent location and a very special atmosphere, namely the reception was like the continuation of the bar. Our room was a prestige room with a special living room area which gave us more space. Breakfast was nice with a good variety. They also had a selection of teas to choose from ( not just teabags). Dinner was also good, we enjoyed the seafood stew.

Unacceptable noise

The party music in the evening/night is so loud that you can hear it and feel the disco beats in every room. The whole hotel is shaking and no sleep/rest/work is possible (even on upper floors). I asked reception to turn down the volume a bit (at least at sleep time) but they refused. This is unbearable and disrespectful towards hotel guests. We won’t come again.
