Enjoyed another amazing stay at the FCW. Check-in is fast and easy as always. Gorgeous rooms with a picturesque slope-side view. There are excellent dining options available at the hotel for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Lots of easy walking trails nearby, but the FCW also offers tour packages for some other nearby trails for varying skill levels. Parking is available at the hotel. We especially love the pool and hot tubs to relax in after a nice hike. Friendly reminder, the hot tubs are generally for quiet relaxation, NOT a waterpark for your poorly behaved kids. Excellent service at every turn. See you next year.

Ideal Vacationing with a Newborn at the Fairmont Gold Chateau Whistler!

To celebrate our daughter-in-law's December birthday, we chose the Fairmont Chateau Whistler for our first vacation with our newborn granddaughter and her parents. We wanted a relaxed, accessible atmosphere where the new parents could rest and recharge after sleepless nights with a newborn, so we opted for the Fairmont Gold experience. The staff and property at the Fairmont Chateau Whistler were exactly what our family needed, and they were above and beyond! Our son and daughter-in-law's Fairmont Gold One Bedroom Corner Suite was stunning. Beautifully decorated for the Christmas season with a glowing, full-size Christmas tree; a welcome Birthday Sweet Treats dessert bar, complete with decadent chocolate cake, gummy bears, donuts, and candies; a full-sized baby crib, new a otter baby plush toy and the cutest signature Fairmont white bathrobe, baby-sized; and plush dog bed, dog bowls, dog food and dog bags for our cherished pup. The room was spacious and comfortable, with a large sofa for nursing and a highboy dresser that also doubled as a perfect baby change table. The hotel team made every effort to place our grandparents' Fairmont Gold Junior Suite just a few doors away, which made offering relief baby care for our granddaughter simple and stress-free. When we were ready, we had only to walk a couple of short hallways to arrive at the luxurious Fairmont Gold Lounge. This home-away-from-home luxurious living room style space was festively adorned with winter decor. Soft sofas pulled up to round dining tables and chairs easily brought all the family together for meals. A delectable buffet spread welcomed guests 4 times a day for breakfast, lunch, afternoon hot appetizers and an evening all-dessert bar. Hot and cold beverages were wonderfully available throughout the day. We would highly recommend the ease and simplicity of the Gold Lounge for travelling with a baby and small children! The new parents recharged in the indoor/outdoor pool, hot tubs, barrel saunas and steam room. A sincere thank you to the entire Fairmont team for making our grandbaby's very first vacation a blessed stay!

Will never stay here

I just phoned to try to get some information regarding the lift status on the mountain this weekend as I could not find this on the website.lI was hoping to bring my grandson up to the beginning area and asked to speak to a concierge as I cannot find out any information regarding opening status for Saturday. The operator on the phone was most unhelpful and would not let me speak to the concierge unless I had a booking number. Why would I have a booking number if I’m not even sure if it’s suitable for my grandson and I to come up? This service is unacceptable!

Staff with Horrible Attitudes

The front desk service ruined the stay from the first moment. They all acted as if guests were priviledged to be in their presence. Incredibly rude and dismissive at every encounter. The room was updated and nice. Some rooms had horrible views butted up to trees on the back side with zero natural light. The basic rooms were crowded and noisey with families and ill behaved children. Staying on the 7th floor meant you had to endure the noise of the Gold package restaurant above your room. And they start very early in the morning interrupting your sleep. The hotel is in a convenient location with a shuttle and ski out in season. But with the horrible attitude of the front desk, spend your money next door or get a rental.

Great choice for business retreat

Whether your business retreat is scheduled for spring, summer, fall or winter, Fairmont chateau Whistler is an amazing choice. This is our second business retreat at Fairmont Chateau Whistler and our Fairmont conference managers took excellent care of every details. I can’t thank Laura and Karla enough for making it so successful for our group to have our business conference there. Food, drinks, audio visual, lighting, etc…. are all planned for and not a beat missed. As you walk toward the chateau you are greeted by the valet and concierge team with big smiles and from every staff you encounter. The decorations during holiday seasons are amazing for the season and the atmosphere is festive. If you are out and about ski valet, you will meet Rikki who is unofficial Chateau ambassador for the hotel. The ski valet manager, Ms. Sydney’s staff takes care of all your ski needs cheerfully in no time and take your skis up and down the steps as you any to go skiing and coming back. After a long day of skiing, the hot chocolate, fire pit and friendly staff are greeting you back to your home away from your home. Kudos to the Fairmont Chateau’s general manager, Mr. Rearden who is making the guests feel welcomed, appreciated, comfortable and most importantly at home. Fairmont Chateau Whistler is an amazing place for your next business conference.
