I stayed at SO/ Maldives for four nights. This was my third visit to the Maldives, and honestly, this was the best stay so far. Below is a clear summary of what I liked and what could be better. Pros Very close to the airport Around 15 minutes by speedboat, which makes arrival and departure very easy. No seaplane, no waiting, and no extra cost. Excellent airport reception and departure service From the moment we arrived at the airport until we left, the service was excellent. We were welcomed, escorted to the boat, and the staff handled our luggage smoothly. Everything was well organized and stress-free. Special thanks to Camille from Travel Escape Agency for the great support. Excellent service at the resort The staff are amazing. Everyone smiles, greets you, and genuinely tries to help. This really makes you feel welcome and relaxed. Outstanding Middle Eastern restaurant (Hadaba) Easily the best restaurant in the resort. The food is delicious, creative, and well presented. The Egyptian chef is doing a great job, and this restaurant really stands out. Access to Crossroads Marina A great option if you want a break from island quietness. Crossroads has cafés, restaurants, and a lively atmosphere. Free transportation is available every couple of hours. Beautiful Pavilion area A very nice and calm place to watch the sunset. They also have happy hour there. It’s perfect after a shower to sit, relax, and enjoy the view. Comfortable and private rooms The room was very comfortable, with a great bed, good privacy, and a spacious, well-designed shower. Amazing beach One of the best beaches I’ve ever been to. Very soft sand, extremely clear water, and excellent privacy. Staying in a Beachfront Private Pool Villa really feels like having your own beach. Cons Other restaurants are average Apart from Hadaba, the food in the other restaurants was normal and not memorable. Crowded breakfast area The breakfast area is too small for the number of guests. Many people were waiting for tables, and the smell in the area was not pleasant, likely due to ventilation. Fixed schedules Most activities, dining times, and transportation follow fixed schedules. If you don’t plan and book early, you may miss some options. Despite some important cons, they would not make me change my rating from five stars. My main priorities were the beach and the privacy, and both were very satisfactory for me. I would definitely come again and would recommend this hotel to anyone. I would like to thank the Pavilion staff for taking good care of us

From the moment we arrived, everything exceeded our expectations. The resort is ideally located, only 15 minutes from the airport by boat. The atmosphere was elegant and relaxing, and the service was flawless. A special thank you to Ana, whose professionalism, warmth, and attention to detail made our stay truly special. The rooms were stunning, immaculately clean, and serviced twice daily. Any request was handled promptly, and all staff members were welcoming and attentive. The spa was the highlight. Kadek was the best. Highly recommend. The cold cinnamon tea to start and hot ginger tea to finish was great. Exceptionally clean facilities with friendly, accommodating staff.

We stayed at SO/ Maldives with our family from 30th December 2025 to 2nd January 2026, and it was a truly wonderful experience. From the moment we arrived, everything was well organized and welcoming. The villa was very comfortable, well maintained, and equipped with excellent facilities. We especially enjoyed the variety of food options, with great quality and flavors throughout our stay. The highlight was the New Year celebration, which was fantastic. The event was lively, well planned, and full of entertainment, creating a great atmosphere for both adults and kids. Overall, it was a lovely family holiday, and we created some beautiful memories. We would definitely recommend SO/ Maldives and look forward to visiting again in the future.

New Years at SO Maldives

We had a fantastic time at SO Maldives. Sue was our host and was the most incredible assistant I have ever experienced at a hotel, always available, developed a lovely relationship with our three year old and even picked her up from kids club to drop her back to our villa. Also arrange a late check out for us before we even had to ask. We will definitely be back and hopefully Sue will be here to make our holiday extra special.
