Serene and just the place to recover

Came here for a few days to relax in the cooler climate. Wonderful resort, peaceful gardens and close to city via grab. Unfortunately I fell sick whilst here with a nasty chest infection, however I could not speak highly enough of each staff member from the security guard to the front desk manager. They were ever so kind in ensuring I had some lemon, ginger, honey and hot water every time I visited the restuarant, which I hold responsible for my quick recovery. And each time I went to the restaurant they remembered my coeliac disease and made accommodations for that without any prompting. As I was sick I couldn’t use the fabulous outdoor pool, although my husband made use of it. However when I had the energy after a few days, it was so relaxing to walk in the gardens and enjoy the beautiful flowers everywhere. I would definately come back here to see more of Dalat, Being sick curtailed my sightseeing, but what a place to be stuck. The room was huge, quiet and great blockout curtains. In fact the entire resort had a sense of serenity. Beds comfortable and enjoyed the bathtub when I was recovering. Oh and the buggies were a lifesaver from the main building to our room when I was finding it hard to walk and breathe, they always called one for me without issue.

exceptional service and beautiful resort

While searching for hotels in Da Lat, we had initially set our eyes on Mercure Dalat Resort. However we knew we wouldn't forgive ourselves if we went out everyday despite staying at a luxury resort. We found the perfect balance by staying the first half in a boutique hotel closer to town during sightseeing days first, then move to Mercure for the remaining stay, without anything planned, so we could fully enjoy! We arrived around 1pm and immediately ushered for check in. It was fortunate that our room was ready and we were taken to Villa 9 in the next compound, by a buggy. We were exceptionally impressed by the massive gardens and flowers at every possible spot of the resort, right down to the outdoor corners even at spots where nobody would pass by. Our deluxe king room was comfortably spacious. Bathroom amenities smelled so good! Requested for body lotion and they sent it to us. Comfortable bedding but wished they had firmer pillows though. As our stay was through a busy period during the new year holiday, the resort was almost at full capacity. The wide open spaces didn't feel overcrowded and it was always easy to find a quiet spot for photos. However we were a bit affected by the noise while trying to nap in the afternoon and sleep at night. In the room, we could always hear outside noises of neighbours talking loudly, doors slamming, kids screaming, people walking on stairs. On one of the days there was a wedding and after it ended we could hear people talking in the lobby area of the villa. This went on late into the night. Maybe it was because we were on the first floor so the noise became an issue. Food at the restaurant was great and breakfast had a huge variety. Restaurant staff was attentive we remembered Huy and some of the ladies. Front desk staff Hiep and Anh were also very helpful. Hiep was everywhere for assistance, from the lobby to the restaurant. Most of the service staff were young people and this added to the lively vibe of the resort. All the other resort staff were very hardworking too. Security on duty 24/7. Many gardeners would be taking care of the landscaping in the gardens. I think the flowers also feel happy listening to music all day long and they smelled lovely! It was a pity to see guests plucking the flowers and wasting buffet food just for photos. We went to the pool for suntan at attempted to swim but it was too icy cold 😅 We noticed the pool was hardly used but the workers also cleaned the swimming pool so very often. Mercure Dalat Resort is probably the most luxury accommodation the city. Even though it is priced way above most hotels in Dalat, we saw where the value was going to - a lot of work and effort was put into maintaining the beautiful resort. During our 4d3n stay, we walked round so many times just to admire the flowers. There is also a resident cat! Not sure if the spa was open for business. Front desk shared that it would be ready next month however we saw a spa staff and she said bookings were available. We would love to try the spa in future. Overall it was a wonderful stay and this became part of our list of hotels to return to. Some things we wished for were firmer pillows, better soundproofing and a heated pool would be great, considering the cool climate in Dalat all year round. We will definitely be back and will request for a higher floor next time.
