Mercure Rhodes Alexia Hotel & Spa 4 звезды

I booked this hotel as a surprise holiday for my parnters 30th birthday and, to be honest, we weren't blown away by it. I would like to state that the location is good, close to the beach and the old town, the room was spotless, and the housekeeping and breakfast staff were fantastic, but unfortunely we felt there could have been a lot of improvement elsewhere. I booked this holiday specifically so that we could visit during the school holdidays as my partner works in education and I am a mature student, the dates worked for us. However as a consequence of this, we were very limited with certain things as "the hotel is closing for the winter". When attempting to order food we were told that we couldn't have chicken on some dishes yet it would be available for others because "the hotel is closing for the winter". We ordered room service on our 2nd day, and yet when we attempted to order room service on our 4th day we were told that they didn't do room service as "the hotel is closing for the winter". On our 3rd day, we were looking to book a couples massage but told that couples option was not available because "the hotel is closing for the winter". What really took us by surprise was that when we asked if we could have a late check out (as our transfer wasn't arriving until 6pm), we were ubruptly told no as "the hotel is closing for the winter". To my utter horror, we were then told that the latest we could be back at the hotel on the day of departure was 5pm to collect our bags and that after that we were expected to wait in the street, in the dark I might add, with all of our belongings and luggage. Essentially, we were being kicked out to fend for ourselves until the transfer arrived at 6pm because (and you've guessed it) "the hotel is closing for the winter". At NO POINT during the booking process, or the run up to our holiday, was I informed that this would be the case otherwise I would have more than likely changed the dates, or cancelled altogether. What was supposed to be a relaxing, refershing birthday surpise eventually became a bit of a nightmare. This attitude towards guests is totally unacceptable and I hope that this doesn't continue to happen to other people. Thankfully there were another group of guests waiting for our transfer so when we arrived back in time for 5pm, we were begrudingly told that we could stay until 6pm. Nontheless this was too little too late as by this time we had already organised our day around this and it had already caued a day and a half of unessessary stress and upset.

The location is perfect very close to the city center and the port. The welcome was warm, and throughout my stay every staff member greeted me with a smile true Mediterranean hospitality. My room was spacious, spotless, and even had a jacuzzi. The lavender flower in the bathroom and the scent of the liquid soap were delightful touches. There was live music on the first night, and although I couldn’t stay long due to other plans, the band sounded amazing. I didn’t dine at the restaurant since I had meals outside, but the bar was excellent fair prices and friendly staff. The only thing I missed was having some information brochures in the room (like room service or SPA details). Perhaps my room was just skipped by mistake. Overall, a very pleasant stay thank you to the entire team for their hospitality.

We have recently returned from staying at this hotel for the 5th time. The reception and bar staff are so friendly and welcoming and always remember us, it feels like we’re coming home. The rooms are clean and modern and cleaned everyday to a high standard with fresh towels. Breakfast is plentiful with omelettes, fried eggs and pancakes cooked to order. The hotel is only about a 15 - 20 min walk to the old town and across the road is a beach. Lots of lovely restaurants nearby. I would have given 5 stars but major building works across the road building a new hotel did make it noisy at times. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel and hopefully we will be returning again next year. Thank you Mecure Rhodes until next time.

Ok guys ,honest review the staff at this hotel are extremely good at their roles from the cleaners,the night Watchman , receptionist,breakfast cook ,and waiting staff in the breakfast room .Now here it comes the building work next door makes it extremely uncomfortable to sit by the pool noise factor imense and dust .Now it didn't bother me as on the days we weren't exploring this wonderful city I had my ear buds in listening to music so no noise just a lovely small pool area with no other guests. This is my tip for the manager /owner whom I saw a few times by the bar area of the pool on his phone loudly.Put up a lage screen fence between the hotel and the road at the side near to the building works ,it would contain the dust and maybe not the noise but it would certainly make your pool area more inviting to guests .Now the sun factor does dart around this area at various times of the day .We had a lovely stay we used the pool (which was freezing I preferred the sea across the road warmer)gym and the spa.Breakfast was a treat home made pancakes ,eggs to order by a lovely lady coffees ,teas,bread ,jams, honey,yoghurt cheese,cold meat ect .Oh one thing not enough tables in the breakfast room ,it did have a balcony with tables but the building work made it impossible to talk to your companion if you were seated there .There is an onsite restaurant and cafe opens from 1 pm serving cocktails beers and food to midnight . The hotel is situated at the end of bar street which didn't bother us as it was great for a night cap on the way home or to sea a live rock band .Others guest we spoke to said the noise was irritated them ,late night revelers,we were one of them oldies but still giving it large .Anyway the hotel is a wee gem but the building work is a main pain and I think it will be at least another few years before it's finished.Greek time .In all a lovely hotel staff amazing 😍,but the building work is a no go area .

Had a great stay here with our EF tour group for 3 nights. Rooms were great and clean, had a balcony we could sit on and see the water. Breakfast was excellent with lots of choices. Dinner was great, but Stavros made them over the top. He made us welcome and his personal service was exceptional. Even with being short staffed, he did everything to make our meals enjoyable. Highly recommend this hotel when you stay in Rhodes as close to old city and the beaches.
