After experiencing the St. Louis location of 21C, we were very excited to stay at the Kansas City location for a quick art adventure getaway. We enjoyed “The Future is Female” exhibit. And breakfast was delicious. Even though we had no idea what breakfast was going to be since menus aren’t posted for M-F hotel breakfasts. But, the KC location isn’t as robust as the St. Louis location. It feels like there’s less artwork and there are fewer amenities. The biggest bummer was the room. It was a corner room, which is neat. But, upon entry to our room there was a bit of a rotten egg smell. We were tired, though, and figured it wasn’t bad enough to warrant a room move. When I was brushing my teeth I noticed that the sink was chipped and oddly discolored in one area. I wanted to shower and wash my -thick hair- but the shower pressure was weak, so I didn’t even try to wash my hair. When we got to bed, I wore my headphones and listened to an audiobook, my husband —no headphones— was subjected to the suddenly squeaky (yet fully off) tap in the bathroom sink. Eventually he turned the tap on to stop the squeaky noises. From an environmental perspective, we hated that it was the only way to stop the squeak. In the morning I wanted to take some photos of the sunrise—but the windows were very dirty on the outside and there didn’t seem to be any way to open them just a bit. This location lacks amenities like a coffee shop and pool. (There is a cool coffee shop within two block, though: Mildred’s. They also have breakfast). We had been thinking about trying 21C in Bentonville for another art-venture, now we’re not so sure.

The location was perfect for our wedding. We blocked out a large amount of rooms for the weekend and our guests enjoyed having an art gallery experience with their stay. Katelyn Petersen was extremely easy to work with and helped us with any questions we had. I would absolutely recommend this hotel to anyone who needs a place to stay

The hotel was very accommodating. Was a little worried bringing my toddler terror into such a nice place; all the staff went above and beyond to talk to him, interact with him; one even pretending he was chasing him to the elevator. I used to work as a Front Desk Manager for many years for Hilton- let me just say I wish I had half your staff at my locations. Overall amazing. Now the husband and I wanna come back without the kiddos And the retired veteran really loved how he could play with the penguins Thanks for a great stay

We were immediately impressed with the velour fabric easy chair and ottoman, and the settee, and the feather-filled throw pillows. The lamps were on dimmers. The Lavazza coffee maker was great, and many extra pods were provided upon request. The bathroom fixtures were luxurious. The king bed was super comfortable. The carpet had NO stains. The 14 foot ceilings lifted our eyes. Now, the reason we chose 21C was because of the art, BUT all of the galleries were closed due to a special event. Another disappointment was that the Savoy restaurant was not open as it was supposed to be. Also, the unadvertised cost $39.95 for one night of valet parking was too much, equaling a fifth of the room cost. Finally, the room was delightful, but check-in at 4 and check-out at 11 gave us only 19 hours there, most of which was sleeping. We wanted to buy a copy of the book that was in the room, but the gift shop was out of it. In conclusion, the clerks were friendly. I doubt we will stay there again because of all the disappointments.
