We had a wonderful stay at the 21c Museum Hotel in Louisville. We stayed in the Cyclone Room and it was like nothing we have seen before. The entire hotel has fun features (stop in the bathroom off of the lobby). I would definitely recommend this hotel to others.

Great Spot / Poor Communications

Under normal circumstances this would be a purely positive review. We arrived Sunday, 9/26. Check-in was great and dinner at Proof was spectacular! We were in town for my wife's brain surgery/procedure and anticipated checking out Tuesday morning, 9/28. Unfortunately, there were some complications and I had to call from the hospital to ask to extend our stay a day. Here's where it went off the rails: Our rate for Sunday was $199, for Monday $249. The person said, "Yes, I can extend your stay, but the rate might be different." My interpretation of "might be different" is that it would likely go up, but "might" implies not by much. I asked about hospital stay rates (Hilton is very generous in this regard at many locations) and the answer was no. Ultimately had to extend the stay again one more night, no mention of rates. Checked out, Did not receive a paper copy even though gentleman said he could, but it was purely emailed instead. No problem. So what was the "might be a different rate"? $379 per night. Of course there is no recourse, but I did feel duped. Had I know, I would have simply checked out Tuesday morning as planned and found a less expensive place near the hospital in Brownsboro, given we weren't really getting to enjoy the room anyway; basically just store our luggage. What can you do? Life goes on, but I am soured towards the brand.

This was our 2nd visit. Had corner Suite, awesome. Restaurant, Proof on Main, once again, Awsome. We are Vegan, and the selection was great. Saturday night ordered room service, they arrived promptly. Staff at Hotel and Restaurant, top notch. We will be back

Traveling Coast to Coast
Found this hotel on our trip across the country--from California to DC. Both art lovers with little time to stop at a museum, this hotel concept was intriguing and did not disappoint. We loved the diversity of artists and media in the exhibit. The guest accommodations were beautifully appointed, comfortable, and quiet. The on-site restaurant was excellent. Staff were all friendly and helpful. Proximity to the waterfront was a plus.
