Ichingo Chobe River Lodge by Mantis 3,5 stelle

An authentic, African river experience in that the location of the tented camp is on the banks of the Chobe river under tall, dense trees. Huge diversity of birds which is ideal for bird photography. The Chobe river is a centre piece of the destination - beautiful in early morning & evening light. Lots of hippo & crocodiles add to the experience. The staff at both the lodge & river boat (Princess 3) are exceptional. Well trained & professional. And friendly. Nothing is too much to ask for. The food on offer is as good as one gets in a 5-star game lodge in Southern Africa. As a bird photographer, the tented camp, guided tender boats and access to the river foliage is better than shooting off the river boat from a photographic boat looking for subjects in the river reed banks. The tender boats are more manoeuvrable than the larger photographic boats. And our guide, Anthony, did a great & patient job putting me in the best place to take photos. The only slightly negative comment, is the state of the tents. They are tired & need to be freshened up. Staff should also open & lighten them up for returning guests. However, my wife & I still loved the entire experience.

We had a four night stay here and it was just enough. We saw some great wildlife and got fantastic photos of birdlife. Big plus for us was having our own boat and guide so each morning and night we could alter the trips to suit us. Lodge was fine, food adequate. Staff excellent.

Wir hatten einen traumhaften Aufenthalt. Wir waren für 2 Nächte in der River Lodge. Sie ist wunderschön gelegen am Fluss, absolut abgelegen und ruhig. Die Zelt-Bungalows sind schön und ebenso das Haupthaus. Das tollste ist dass man nur mit dem Boot hinkommt und sich auf einer Insel befindet, was sich anders anfühlt als ein Platz wo man mit dem Auto hinfährt. Die Pirschfahrten per Boot, der Besuch des Dorfes und die Angelfahrten haben alle viel Spaß gemacht. Das Essen ist sehr gut und das Personal war ausnahmslos extrem freundlich und bemüht dem Gast alle Wünsche zu erfüllen.

Il Chobe Princess e' un concetto diverso e meraviglioso di Safari. Siamo rimasti molto entusiasti dell'esperienza e consigliamo questo tipo di soggiorno a tutti i viaggiatori, soprattutto agli amanti della fotografia. Durante la navigazione, gli avvisatamenti di animali sono costanti ed e' stato anche molto divertente provare la pesca con rilascio dei 'tiger fish'.

Siamo stati all ichingo come seconda tappa di un viaggio proseguito in Botswana. La tenda semplice ma lussuosa, il personale molto carino inclusa la nostra guida Anton. Pescare il tiger fish tra coccodrilli, ippopotami e cicogne è qualcosa di molto speciale.
