Hotel mit guter ÖPNV Anbindung

Wir hatten 2 Nächte für die Veranstaltung "Biathlon auf Schalke" in diesem Hotel gebucht. Die Zimmer waren zwar klein, aber sauber. Ebenso das Bad. Parallele Nutzung zu zweit unmöglich. Das Personal sehr nett. Obwohl wir ein Zimmer zur Straße hatten war der Lärm der Straße nicht zu hören. Die Fenster sind sehr gut Schallisoliert. Das Personal beim Frühstück war absolut fix und sehr bemüht, dem Ansturm gerecht zu werden. Die Anbindung an den ÖPNV (zur Arena) und die direkte Lage zur Fußgängerzone sind sehr gut. Angenehmes Publikum. Die Einfahrt zum Hotel ist sehr irreführend beschildert. Wir waren nicht die einzigen, die sich zunächst vor der Fußgängerzone wiedergefunden haben und dort rückwärts wieder raus manövrieren mussten. Parkplätze gab es bei unserer Anreise nach Auskunft der Rezeption leider keine mehr. "Alle schon verkauft".Es scheinen ohnehin nur sehr wenige verfügbar zu sein. Aber im Parkhaus nebenan war noch reichlich Platz zu einem günstigen Preis (6€/Tag). Schön wär's allerdings, wenn der Nebeneingang (neben dem Parkhausausgang) auch als Eingang nutzbar wäre. Auch wäre wenigstens ein Kurzzeit-Parkplatz zum Check-in, Koffer ausladen und ins Zimmer bringen, schön. Äußerst irritiert waren wir allerdings, dass ein nach uns eingetroffenen Gast - der anscheinend schon öfter im Hotel und dort bekannt war - dann tatsächlich doch noch einen Platz in der "total ausverkauften" Tiefgarage bekommen hat, obwohl doch eine Vorabreservierung nicht möglich war (lt. Auskunft der Rezeption bei unserem Check-in).... Beim Check-in erwartete uns zudem eine kleine Überraschung: Dass wir unseren Aufenthalt INKLUSIVE Frühstück gebucht hatten, war dem Hotel von booking.com nicht übermittelt worden oder es war einfach nicht im System hinterlegt. Dieses Missverständnis wurde aber umgehend korrigiert. Schien an dem Tag allerdings schon mehrfach vorgekommen zu sein. 6,90 € für ein Bier in der Hotelbar könnte man noch als "normal" bezeichnen, wenn es sich nicht um eine "Self-Service-Bar" handeln würde. Das es in einer Hotelbar keinen Service am Tisch gibt, haben wir hier tatsächlich zum ersten Mal erlebt. Der Frühstücksraum ist deutlich zu klein, wenn das Hotel (wie bei Großveranstaltungen auf Schalke) ausgebucht ist.

Great location, near the main bahnhof. The staff is very warm, effective and helpfull. The Bar (good atmosphere) and frontdesk are working 24/7 Simple decent breakfast * The street is noisy, but if you close the window - it's too hot (no Air Condition). Nice hotel for one night but doesn't justify the price.

Hotel staff were friendly when I had to get my key coded every day and when I was leaving I was help to get a taxi that actually took credit card. On check in staff were great and my only issue with my stay was the no air con. It’s was up to 46 degrees on day during my stay and the whole trip was over 30 degrees I never got a good sleep any night.

When we arrived the lady at the reception was very rude; no hello/welcome no smile, she looked like she hated her job. They woke us at 9 a.m (knock on door twice) and even entered the room WHEN WE HUNG THE DONT DISTURB TAG at the door an hour later (me and my partner were both naked) We had breakfast at 9:30 and a lot was already eaten, they didnt refill the breakfast even though breakfast is until 10 a.m. Pillows were very small and room very hot.

I spend one night in this very standard business hotel. There is nothing wrong in this hotel everything works and is like in all other Ibis hotels. Parking is paid separately but is is good. Room was spacious and well working. Cleanliness is very good level. Breakfast is good. Location is good and in walking distance you can find many restaurants and bars. I can recommend to business travelers who do not expect anything special.
