I loved the shopping area and the variety of food places around. The gondola and water show experience was amazing. Would highly recommend to anyone looking to visit Antalya.

Watch out for air con switching off

Service great and everything lovely - we even said at the start of the holiday that we would definitely come back BUT 3 days after we arrived the air con switched off (due to winter months even though it’s 23-25 degrees and boiling!) we struggled to sleep despite the fan in the room and our 15 month old baby was sweating and really struggling to sleep too. Reception provided fans etc but this really did not help. Asked reception several times if they would consider switching the air con on as it’s quite hot still but this did not happen. The staff have been great but unfortunately this has tainted my experience and I’m not sure I will be coming back as would expect better from a hotel like this!

Rixos Downtown Antalya is a beautiful hotel with all the facilities you could possibly need. The location is stunning, the heated pool is a real highlight, and the surroundings are peaceful and green. The rooms are spotless and well cleaned every day, though they do feel a bit dated. Evening entertainment is enjoyable, the live bands are great, even if they tend to repeat the same songs. The fresh fruit juices are delicious, and most of the staff are genuinely friendly and helpful. However, there are a few points for improvement. Before arriving, I asked several times about the golf facility and even received information about it, but unfortunately it turned out to be closed upon arrival, which was disappointing. Consistency in drinks could also be better, ordering the same cocktail or coffee can result in very different versions depending on the bar or staff member. The limited English spoken by some staff can make communication a bit tricky at times, and the food could use a slightly more European touch. Lastly, there are quite a few flies and the occasional smell of cat urine due to the number of stray cats in and around the hotel, something beyond the hotel’s control but worth mentioning. Overall it’s a lovely place to stay with great facilities and atmosphere, just a few small details could make it truly perfect.

The hotel is very nice, with so many things to do here, from massages to tennis. All the staff are very helpful and very friendly. You can't go hungry here either, because there's always something to eat.

What a fabulous hotel, our first time to Turkey and you made our holiday one we won't forget. The hotel is on the grand scale in terms of size, there is plenty to do in the hotel and we stayed with our 14 year old daughter. We had a double room and upgraded to a sea view on check in, the balcony view was lovely. When we booked the room it says it has a sofa bed, I assumed the sofa would pull out into an actual bed, but it didn't, the bedding is placed over the sofa which doesn't have a mattress, so after 9 nights my daughter didn't find it all that comfortable. The rooms air con could do with an upgrade, its quite old and noisy, would be good to have a more modern one with a remote control. The main bed was very comfortable and the room was cleaned exceptionally well everyday, the free mini bar was topped up daily too and was a great service. Bathroom decent size snd toiletries plentiful, the only thing I would say was missing is liquid hand soap rather than the small bar given would be much better. Gym was awesome the equipment 10/10, other leisure facilities are great too. Ladies toilets down by the pool bar could do with brighter lights, very dark in the cubicals. Snack bar and beach bar are great, some tasty snacks and chilled places to go. Buffet has plenty of fresh food options, quality and taste were great. Can be times it gets very busy and the staff are working really hard, but there were a couple of occasions we sat down to eat and the staff did not offer us a drink for quite some time but did keep tending to other tables which sat down after us. If the staff could keep checking for guests who are trying to get their attention rather than going to the guests who are happy to call them over all the time, we just respect they work hard and just were waiting to catch their eyes. Some guests have mentioned the cats in their reviews, there are a lot of them but they seem very well cared for and I saw lots of guests enjoying seeing them and saying hello to them, it certainly didn't bother us. I would definitely come back and had a wonderful relaxing stay, thanks Rixos!
