The 4-star Mercure Hotel Bielefeld is located in a quiet park yet is close to the city and has good transport links to the A2 and A33 highways and the Bielefeld ICE train station. It‘s really bad, in fact I cannot remember when did I stay in a worse place, for private or for business : has the charm of an old Easter European student hostel, it’s dirty (hello dead bugs in the corner…) and my room reeks of cigarette smoke… Truly disgusting.

The hotel is in a beautiful location and is functionally equipped. The hotel as a whole and the rooms could be in better condition. The booked breakfast was very good and the service too. many parking spaces are available.

No Housekeeping

The stay was alright but there was no housekeeping service...had to go down to the reception late evening after we returned from a business meeting to ask why and was given a tag saying you should have hung this on the door outside the room in the morning when leaving..went back and searched, there was no tag in the room nor were we told about this..so obviously, tea, coffee, soap all not replenished and took two more trips to the reception to get fresh ones..

A bit difficult to find on a dark rainy night but a lovely welcoming hotel with good food and immaculate comfy room. Hotel staff pleasant and accommodating. So good we returned there on the way back to UK.
