I like this area and this hotel is situated at an ideal location for me. Safe and is near the bts station Room is modern and neat. Hotel is running quite full. Pool tends to be crowded but not an issue. Room service is prompt and polite. Welcome drink for accor silver and above

Location is great, very close to bts, close to emporium and emquatier, this is very critical, rooms are good but as a gold member dont expect upgrades much as often it is full ... people like me who works during the travel the workspace downstairs is very cool, loved it, swimming pool, gym are all good, breakfast is good ... Me Jatupal who was at reception was extra helpful all the time, helping with info, arranging cabs, negotiating and giving better pricing, highly appreciated. View from the rooms are very good as well, Mercure is above ibis, so all rooms will be higher level

No Upgrade as Platinum Member

As a platinum member no upgrade was given and I found the reception staff not that friendly and bit inexperienced. No premium bath amenities were given also as platinum member. Housekeeping need more attention to details as bed sheet were not changed during our 5 nights satyed.

The hotel is very close to train station (about 5 minute walk) and is quite clean. Most important is the staffs are friendly and helpful, from front desk and bellboy (Mr. Sufiyan and Jatupol)...... Thanks!

I had a stay at Mercure Sukhumvit 24 which had some good points but most likely too many negatives for me to bother returning. The main issues were cleanliness and service. I booked the entry level room and before arriving at the hotel I noticed that suites were not available so I did not expect a suite upgrade as Accor Diamond. I was told I was upgraded +1 to an “executive room” which I do not believe is a bigger room based on the hotel website, entry level or exec rooms are both 26 square meters. Considering that the price of this Mercure is often below the majority of Novotels in the city, the room was not bad. The shower wall was entirely glass which provided for great natural light in the bathroom if moving the blinds up and the water pressure was excellent, in fact better than at 95% of more expensive hotels where I have stayed before. The toilet had Japanese style features and controls; I don’t think I have ever seen such a toilet (including a light!) at a hotel below 50 EUR in the past. The toiletries were branded for Mercure and paraben-free so it was at least a modest positive to stand out. There were soft drinks in the minibar which is one of the few differences between this room type and the basic rooms. The main problem with the room was that the chair near the bed was bright yellow and had disgusting stains on it so I completely avoided even putting my belongings on it. Also when I book a room with a king size bed, I expect a king size bed. Joining two twin beds mattresses does not make a king size bed but this is what I had in my room. The breakfast buffet was shared between Ibis Sukhumvit 24 guests and Mercure Sukhumvit 24 guests. This is great if you are staying at Ibis but it’s poor if you are staying at Mercure. Nonetheless the buffet was better than what many Novotels have to offer so it was above my expectations, the issue is simply that I would rather have it when staying at Ibis for much cheaper than Mercure. The restaurant venue itself was also very nice with modern design, high ceiling, and large windows. As nice as breakfast was, regarding dining it went downhill from there. The hotel makes the conscious decision to close the restaurant for lunch and dinner so it is not possible to benefit from the Accor Plus dining discount. The hotel clearly has a kitchen open because they have an extensive room service menu, but unfortunately they refused to extend the Accor Plus discount to room service and said there is nothing they can do. It would actually be more accurate to say there is nothing they were willing to do since other Accor hotels have sometimes accepted to give me the discount on room service before, depending on circumstances. It seems this hotel puts guests in a catch-22 by not opening the restaurant and denying discounts on room service. To make matters worse, at the other Mercure hotel I stayed in Bangkok (Mercure Siam), they had great bargains for room service, but Mercure Sukhumvit 24 had overpriced items instead. Needless to say, I decided to not give any incidental income to the hotel, I paid for my room rate and nothing else. I was told my comments about Accor Plus dining would be relayed to a manager but nobody bothered to get back to me, not that I was insisting on it anyway but the lack of follow-up was interesting to note. Unsurprisingly, at check-out I was not asked how my stay was; I was prepared to give honest and balanced feedback about the positives and the negatives. It simply re-enforced my view that customer service is not a consideration at this hotel. Overall I could not get past the dirty room, in addition the service style rubbed me the wrong way. This hotel also has very few suites so it’s unlikely that Diamond upgrades will ever be of great value at this property. For these reasons the only way I would return to this location would be to try the joined Ibis for a fraction of the price of Mercure and benefit from the nice breakfast, considering that the odds of a suite upgrade would be slim to none at Mercure anyway.

On the contrary, it was with regret to learn that in overall we could not live up to your expectations in terms of service. Please accept my sincerest apologies for the unacceptable cleanliness of your room and note that the issue will be addressed accordingly with our housekeeping team for improvement. Room upgrades are usually to the next room type and indeed suites are limited. In this regard as you noted, the only way to guarantee them is to purchase that specific room category. I can assure you that breakfast is priced per Mercure standards, even for ibis guests. Moreover ibis is on quite minimalistic side and does not have access of all facilities of Mercure as the swimming pool. However, you re more than welcome to give a try to our economy option. As for our food and beverage offer, as of the beginning of August, our main restaurant is with extended operating hours till 15:00 hrs. Dinner as well lunch has always has been available in our Deli & Bar at the lobby, together with our Vue rooftop bar open Thursday to Sunday inclusive, where Accor Plus benefits are available. Unfortunately room service is not part of Accor Plus offer and I am sorry that nobody came back to you in that regards. Please also forgive the lack of proper farewell at the time of check out. I am trying to reach and meet in person at least on arrival or departure our Diamond guests and I apologize for missing the opportunity to personally meet you.
