Wonderful experience. We had a vista suite and it was lovely. Great food and service for breakfast and dinner at the Amaya restaurant. Service through out was outstanding. Could not have enjoyed our four day stay more.

Disappointing experience for our anniversary

I stayed at the Fairmont on December 6th for our anniversary, and unfortunately the experience fell far short of the standards one would expect from a property of this caliber. From the beginning, the level of attentiveness from the staff was noticeably lacking. Basic amenities such as conditioner and body wash were not provided in the room, requiring multiple requests to the front desk. We also asked the valet service to charge our Tesla multiple times, a request they confirmed they could accommodate, yet the vehicle was never charged. The issues continued at their restaurant ,Amaya. Despite the dining room being nearly 90 % empty, I waited approximately 20 minutes to be seated. The hostess appeared overwhelmed and was frequently away from the stand, leaving several couples waiting. Once seated, service was inconsistent and disorganized; every waiter who approached us was different, and several of our requests were either delayed or mishandled. This seems to be consistent with other reviewers who had to flag down waiters 3+ times for something simple like coffee. To make matters worse, there was an error in our bill, and we were charged for items we did not order. Overall, the stay was frustrating and disappointing, especially given the occasion. A hotel of this reputation should provide a seamless and thoughtful guest experience, but this visit was marked by repeated service failures that detracted from what should have been a memorable and enjoyable celebration. I hope management takes these issues seriously so future guests do not encounter the same difficulties.

The most magical stay thanks to specific staff members. Dylan at Front Desk received us with a warm smile and readiness to help, he truly went above and beyond, a gem at the property. Special mentions to Andrea at Amaya, Carlos at Amaya is a star, Bessim also at Amaya and Miguel and Robert at Amaya made our night! Jeff and Chris at the lobby lounge went out of their way to make us feel at home. The decorations are stunning, the best the hotel has ever been. Go to have the best holiday Season!

This is our fourth year of celebrating our year-end holiday company party at the beautiful Fairmont in Del Mar. I can’t say enough about this hotel. The service is fantastic, the venue for meetings is superb and the rooms are gorgeous. I look forward to our visit every year.

Good experienece and one of the best hotels in Socal. But for the price we paid, I do expect more and better from it.

Buffet is great. Lots of variety. However it should have soup, crab and/or cooked fish like salmon or halibut. Maybe three to five more dessert choices. Room is good. The window for the bathroom couldn't be shutted so we have to use something to block it. I had difficulty turning on the fireplace. Tennis court is great but it should be free of charge and there should be at least two tennis courts. Glice skating event was great but there should be by default several hot beverage available at the bar due to how cold it was. We didn't know there is hot cocoa and we had to pay and use a paper cup to get the hot cocoa which is kind of a letdown. Breakfast was good at amaya especially the manager there was very friendly. Staff wasn't all good as we asked for coffee refill three times before we can get one. Now here is the worst part, the coffee was one of the worst if not the worst I have ever had. Both at Amaya and the cafe. They tasted really bad. Each was 8 dollars so it made it even worse. You should have coffee like blue bottle or Illy or similar coffee brand. Afternnon tea is great. Way better than what we had eight years ago. It is very good. Only suggestion I have is if there is a way to keep the tea warmer for longer, that would be perfect. Swimming pool is good - nice and clean but it is a bit too standard so it is a bit boring. Me and my family can here eight years ago and we like this place so we still like this place. I hope we will come back soon again. For the price we paid, I do expect more from this hotel including the suggestions I made.
