Almost not worth it anymore. I've stayed here 4 times since 2016, and let's hope that the renovations right now can help bring it back to the old standard. I'm not picky with my hotel stays, except when I stay at a Fairmont, as you're paying a ton of money for an exceptional experience. STOP ALLOWING DOGS! I own a dog, I leave my dog at home because I don't want other peoples time here to be ruined. Dogs do not belong at a Fairmont. Our neighbors in the room beside ours, had a dog they left in the room their entire stay. It barked 24/7. Woke us up at midnight, 3 am and started barking again at 6am and didn't stop until we finally had to leave the room at 10 am because we couldn't handle the constant barking. We came back before we went skating... barking. Left, came back before supper... barking. We ended up speaking to the Manager because it was just too much and we didn't pay to be here and listen to that. They did compensate our 2 breakfasts and lunch at the hotel, which was appreciated. However, it didn't solve the issue and I don't get why there needs to be dogs in a place like JPL. It's crazy how thin the walls are to start with, you can hear every single word and convo going on in the other room. If I was staying at a Super 8 or Best Western, I wouldn't care, but this is a Fairmont. I hoped that the renos wouldn't affect the whole, Christmas at the lodge vibe that keeps bringing me back, but they did. The fires around the property weren't kept up, they were always out, no one was keeping them going. Not having the big main restaurant/lounge and Christmas tree up honestly sucked. I understand the renos are going on, but if you've been here in December in previous years, I just don't think it's worth it to go this year, wait until the renos are done and go in 2026. The staff was great, always very friendly. Had room service both mornings, food and service were both amazing. Spa, great as always too. But small details just add up and makes a person question the price point.

The hotel is under renovation. The restaurants are not open and the bar and lounge are not open. If you want to eat or drink you have to drive in to town. If you want the Jasper Park Lodge experience delay your visit.

We apologize for the inconvenience caused by the ongoing guest enhancements, however our restaurant and lounge are fully operational and have been temporarily relocated to our Golf Clubhouse, in addition to all day in room dining. Orso restaurant is also operating under typical seasonal hours from Thursdays to Saturdays, due to this being a low season with less visitor demand. Our annual family getaway to JPL was fantastic once again. We had a beautifully renovated room, still cozy and cabin like, but modernized. Renovations were underway at the Great Hall, but we loved the lounge and restaurant space in the Clubhouse. We dined at Orso our first evening and it was wonderful thank you to Ansh the manager and Tim who took awesome care of us. Mathias in the Stanley was lovely and the staff at the pool were awesome. Amazed how wonderful it was even without our favourite Emerald lounge. Thank you again to the team!

Not a dark sky hotel in the middle of a dark sky park

Dark Sky park, Dark Sky Festival, only lodging inside the Park and it had flood lights! People are lovely. Room was nice. Restaurant was ok, better for breakfast than dinner, nice art gallery: BUT THERE WAS NO DARK SKY PLACE ON THE PREMISES. Seriously ! They had a potio by a heated pool for people to lounge around but no place to be in the dark watching the sky! Flood lights all over! Guest windows open and lit! Other than stumbling around the lake to find a dark spot (very unsafe, lots to trip over) I could not find a nice dark place in this designated Dark Sky Park in the fancy Fairmont. BTW they have an awesome Golden Retriever greeter.

We understand your disappointment regarding the dark sky experience, as our location within Jasper National Park provides a unique opportunity for stargazing. We unfortunately must have lighting on property for guest safety and all lighting at JPL and in the Town of Jasper is low light and casted only downward to deflect any light pollution. There are many areas around property that are accessible to view the stars and there are also dedicated tours that will take guests into designated areas to enjoy the night sky.
