Ibis Baku City, Azerbaijan: If you’re avoiding the oligarch bling of the big hotel names such as the Ritz, Marriott and Fairmont, 3-stars Ibis might fit your bill. We had 3 days of exhausting day trips so didn’t mind an affordable crash pad. It lacks the charm of the old city or the chic of the Crescent stretch. Tucked in the embassy area, it’s quiet and easily accessible. Taxi rides are dirt cheap so it’s always easy to call for a taxi via Bolt app. Rooms are small but good enough for 2. There’s a lovely restaurant and bar but we were out till late every night. Breakfast is buffet style with a good spread. We were on the second floor where the gym is, which screams convenience. There are cafes and restaurants in the vicinity for a nice walkabout. Some demerits – staff are utterly grumpy, but I take this as a national cultural phenomenon. There’s no warm greeting, hardly any help and things take a long time. Walls are thin and we were unfortunate to have students banging doors, screaming and yelling all night. Water seep through shower doors and the sockets are stupidly built for the greatest inconvenience. If you’re mostly out and about like us, you wouldn’t mind the inconvenience. #eatstylishtravelstylish

Staff are really friendly and Hotel is clean and well maintained their cozy bar is really nice . Comparing to Ibis rooms the rooms is big and well maintained the only comment that no international adopters was available but over all i really enjoyed . Thanks Rahil & Safar & Elnur & Hassan & Aga 🤍

First of all, we stayed at the hotel between 13 and 18 May 2024. The first thing I looked at was whether there was a clean masjid room. Unfortunately, I am sorry to say that the masjid room was not built. I hope you will take this article into consideration and build a prayer room in a suitable part of the hotel. As for the employees, they were all friendly, caring and warm-hearted. Especially the friends at the reception, Mr. Bashir, Elmir, Ali and the other restaurant manager and the friends serving there were very friendly. I would also like to thank the housekeeper chief "Mr. Orhan" for his interest and concern.

I booked a room on 14 May 2024 for one night and was room number 625 the room has very bad smell it’s like unclean bathroom smell (sewage) I approached the receptionist guy name Elmin he claims that he is a supervisor and he never offer any help to me when I want to report the issue. Very bad service, very bad experience. Specially with Elmin.

Some minor hiccups but a pleasant comfortable stay

The hotel is modern looking, comfortable and near a few cafes and such likes. We did have a few issues with our check in and then our room but overall a very nice experience. For the check in the computer system wasn’t working so we had to wait for 10 mins before we could check in. Generally not a major issue but it was at 3am so at the time we were eager to just check in. In the room, the room was good sized, modern and comfortable. Unfortunately there was a very strong and fowl smell coming from shower drain. When we first called someone came to fix it however it didn’t get fixed. We called again and then no one came! When we called third time on the next day then they said we don’t think there’s any smell but we can change your room. The new room didn’t have any smell. Other than that a nice pleasant experience. The food at the hotel was good and the breakfast is decent, even for vegetarians like us with a selection of breads, Azerbaijani jams, a couple of hot dishes, fruit, etc.
