Very poor experience

I was so disappointed by my experience at your hotel that I am providing this feedback even before I have checked out. Due to the heavy rain over the past few days, I chose to wear slippers for comfort, as I simply wanted to relax and enjoy the hotel’s facilities. I was initially allowed access to the club lounge in the afternoon without issue, but when I returned later in the evening, Myra, the lounge staff, denied me entry because of my slippers. When I politely asked for her name and requested to speak with the duty manager, Myra’s response was surprising. Instead of addressing the inconsistency, she suddenly allowed me to enter the lounge. This left me wondering why I was denied access in the first place and why the situation only changed once I mentioned speaking with a manager. If the hotel has a dress code policy for the lounge, it would have been much more helpful to inform guests of this in advance—perhaps through an email prior to check-in. As an Accor Platinum member, I have automatic lounge access as part of my benefits, and this experience was neither clear nor respectful of that privilege. To make matters worse, when I escalated the issue to the assistant manager, I felt they sided with Myra rather than acknowledging the inconsistency in how I was treated. Additionally, the manager who was sent to my room to apologize was the same person who had been rude during my check-in process. This clearly indicates that there may be broader issues with the hotel’s staff. The lack of clarity, poor communication, and mishandling of the situation left me frustrated and disappointed. I hope the hotel takes this feedback seriously and ensures staff are trained to manage such situations more professionally in the future. For me, I will definitely not return. I have stayed at various Accor and Sofitel hotels throughout Asia, and this is the first time I’ve encountered such a poor experience.

Consistently excellent Sofitel experience. The room was spotless, with a spacious, modern bathroom and very comfortable beds. Breakfast featured great French and Chinese options. Special thanks to Louise for her warm and efficient checkout. A few suggested additions in the (quite modern and spacious) bathroom would be a bidet. And maybe a choice of bath bomb instead of bath salt

Very heart warming afternoon. Wenz, Kris, John and Rey were really hospitable and friendly. Especially Wenz, we had small talks n jokes ...he made the experience a little more cheery and funny...Thank You Team, we look forward coming back to 1864 once again.

Excellent service! Kris and Edwin provided exceptional service throughout our stay. Five stars all the way. The hotel is easily accessible, the staff is incredibly helpful, and the food—especially the beef—was absolutely delicious. The front office level 1, managed by Celasne, offered outstanding service as well. Highly recommended for both families and business travelers.

Best Expresso Martinis in town (ask for Chris)

From the moment we were greeted at Reception , we felt welcomed and very much made to feel at home. When we walked into the lounge and were greeted by the bears we were blown away. Such a fun warm happy place. Our room was very spacious and clean and had a nice view with a large bathroom. All the facilities including the pool were great . We were impressed with the dining room and the food and service were second to none , however have best part of all was meeting Chris, the bar/food manger, CHRIS !!! The ultimate host and the best “Expresso Martini maker ever. They were so good we had two! In fact we were so impressed on our last night in Singapore (We we’re staying elsewhere for our last 5 nights) On our last night we came back to the Sofitel especially to see Chris and enjoy his special drinks. Not only did he welcome us but unbelievably called us by name (two different surnames. Now that’s the makings of a vet good manager . The service again was great , the food very tasty (Waugh Beef Sliders), enjoyed with a glass of wine , then our Decaf Expresso Martinis. A nice finale to our wonderful time in Singapore. We will be back and we hope not only will the bears still be there but also our lovely “Chis” Full marks and THANKYOU
