Short stay for one night. Very good location in the centre. 5 minutes from the central station and in the heart of downtown. The hotel is a classic building that was converted into an Ibis. The rooms are a bit rusty and the floor is making a noisy sound every time you walk so you can hear people walking in the corridor. The team are friendly specially the girls in the breakfast room . Hardly anyone smiles !! The breakfast room is in the basement not very inviting. I was on the road for 10 days and stayed in 3 Ibis hotels, this was on the lower-side

The best Accor/Ibis property in Rīga, Latvijja - definitely recommended

Once again a wonderful stay at the Ibis Rīga Centre hotel. This time I was assigned a two bed room instead of an ordinary double bed room. It was by far much bigger than Your average Ibis red hotel room and it was impeccable clean and there was even a Chrome Cast connected to the TV. Room was facing the atrium/inner yard this time which I found was a bit quieter. Only disadvantage was that since I i arrived after 22:00 hours I didn’t have the opportunity to enjoy a proper welcome drink in due to local regulations, but overall I was as always very satisfied with this establishment (once again) and I could really recommend it, a lot better than the more expensive and supposedly more luxurious Mercure which I also have stayed at earlier this year and this Ibis Riga Centre is a hundred times more better and also much cheaper and with much nicer facilities and staff.

Location good, but hotel far from good.

I'm a semi-regular IBIS/Accor guest. They are not my number one hotel group to use when travelling, but their coverage across Europe and properties in a number of places where other groups are not present in, often makes them an attractive proposition. I have to say though that this was not one of the best experiences. Yes I understand that it's an old building and I understand that we can't expect things to be amazing in an old building. But my room on the ground floor was full of creaking, with weird, strange hallways and a not so nice smell often haunting it. The path to the breakfast room is through a myriad of corridors and turns and small rooms and clearly doesn't have enough seating for the amount of guests. In addition, the spread that was laid on was, lets just say basic. And they have movement sensitive corridor lights as well to save energy/money , but the sensors are clearly in bad places as often it wasn't until you were already walking in a dark corridor thar the lights came on rather than at the entrance to them. With no windows in these corridors, it literally can be pitch black. Now for the room itself, the mattress was not good, possibly one of the worst I've ever slept on. One of the lights didn't work in the room, no safe despite advertised. no tea and coffee in the room or even water (I know some European IBIS do that instead), only one pillow and generally the lights in the room are ineffective. Sadly trends in many hotels in recent years, appear to be to have as many lights as possible without any of them being particularly effective. The water pressure in the shower was not very good either. Generally the whole thing was poor. I flicked on the TV, that had a barely working picture and muffly sound to try and drown out the noise around me, but like many Accor hotels, the only English channel is France 24 in English. We know Accor are French. But why not provide an international English channel, not one that is focused about France? Why not carry CNN, BBC, Sky, Euronews or something like that like pretty much every other major hotel group? There's already France 24 in French for the French! Would I come back? Absolutely not. The location is good, but the rooms are simply not good enough and the noise and the whole environment is poor. Do not stay. It's only getting a two due to location and the fact the staff were friendly. If not for that it'd be a one.

This is my second time at this hotel. I have booked and prepaid a double bed room for one person for 6 nights. Reception welcomed me and after the usual procedure I checked in (though I had already checked in -web). I was given my key card and went to the room. It was a two bed room two beds, two duved, two sets of towels... etc a typical tween bed room. I reported this to the reception and I was told that this is what they mean double bed i.e. two single beds close to each other... I'm a platinum card member of the Accor club and this is because Ibises offer budget prices and a known standard quality level. NOT FOR RIGA! (I posted a picture of the room but I see that there are many similar photos.) PS. 2 days later I was given a real double bed room for my remaining 4 nights.

I am a regular Ibis fan for its value proposition for solo travelers like me. However, one does expect basic comforts and ambience even from an Ibis property. This one has just 2 positives, convenient location and a vibrant lobby. Rest of it is all downhill. 1. All the rooms have windows that open into a central courtyard. During my 4 days here I was never sure what was going on there but the nosie level day and night was unbearable. One has to leave the windows open since there is no other ventilation or air source in the room. 2. The hotel is built into a very old building, and it shows in various ways with creaking floors, weird hallways, musty smell everywhere. 3. The lighting in the room and in the bathroom is terrible making it impossible to read or do any work or shave. 4. The mattress is one of the worst I have experienced in an Ibis' property. 5. There is no amenity tray in the room, not even a kettle for hot water. 6. The shower stall is very cramped for a 185cm person like me. There is no space in the sink or shower for personal toilet items. 7. Breakfast is set up in the basement with a strange configuration of passageways and small rooms. The spread itself was one of the worst. One does not expect a gourmet breakfast at an Ibis, but one does expect to have butter, fresh fruits and proper coffee. The coffee machine doled out gutter water worse than the coffee in the USA. 8. The floor hallways have sensor lighting making it eerie to walk to and from the elevator. 9. They still have the gall to offer room cleaning only every 4 days unless you insist on daily cleaning. I would not stay here again.
