A good, reasonable stay at the IBIS hotel

We stayed at the IBIS hotel in Ulaanbaatar twice, two weeks apart, on each end of a trip to South Korea. The hotel is well located for getting to and from the airport without encountering too much traffic (it took about 40 min each way, which I hear is pretty good for UB). The hotel was very clean, and the food was good. The facilities were ok, except the sauna room was locked and dark despite the hotel saying it should be open. (I am sure had we asked they would have opened it). The WiFi was . . . sporadic at best, though in fairness we were never able to find good WiFi in Ulaanbaatar. I'm knocking the rating down to four stars because the hotel offered us a free drink if we wrote a review. We didn't take them up on that offer (this review is wholly voluntary) but I think it's important to note that others' reviews may not be as honest.

Great service from Bayasaa

I’d like to share my heartfelt appreciation for the excellent service I received from Bayasaa at ibis Styles Ulaanbaatar. Late one evening, I was hungry but the hotel restaurant had already closed. Struggling to order food through a local delivery app due to the language barrier, I turned to the front desk for help. Bayasaa went above and beyond—he kindly called a late-night restaurant on my behalf and placed the order. When I ran into an issue with making payment over the phone, he even offered to use his own card and trust that I would reimburse him. Since I only had a large Mongolian banknote, he thoughtfully asked some local guests to help exchange it for smaller bills so I could pay him back. What struck me most was his genuine kindness—he never once asked for anything in return. Bayasaa truly embodied Mongolian hospitality and exemplified the spirit of Accor’s service values. His warm assistance turned what could have been a frustrating situation into a memorable experience I will never forget.

We really want to commend Emujin - for something amazing she did. As we landed in Ulaanbaatar, we had forgotten one of our suitcases in the airport bus. Scrambling to find a way of getting in touch with the airport bus, Emujin at the reception connected with the bus , tracked our lost suitcase, and even got it delivered to our room, all within an hour. This is what the example of true customer service is! We are so thankful for her help. Thanks Emujin.

Ибис это макдоналдс в мире отелей - в какую бы страну ты не приехал ты получишь понятный уровень качества и знакомый сервис. Уланбатр не исключение. Находится не совсем в центре, но это может быть плюсом, т.к. пробки на выезд из город ужасные. У отеля есть собственная парковка и это тоже большое преимущество! Номер весьма просторный, в хорошем состоянии. В номере есть зубные щётки и халаты. Завтрак без излишеств, но есть весь европейский стандарт и немного монгольских традиционных закусок. WiFi хороший.

Das Hotel ist wahrscheinlich das zum Flughafen naheste gelegene. Personal kann teilweise sehr schlecht englisch, auch an der Reception. Terrasse ist sehr angenehm, wenn auch mit Aussicht auf das Kraftwerk. Um ins wirkliche Zentrum zu kommen, muss man fast den Bus nehmen
