A series of unfortunate events

We stayed for one night in September. I chose this hotel for its central location, its four star rating and secure parking. Positive Aspects Location: Convenient walking distance to attractions and restaurants. Room: Comfortable bed, quiet at night. Parking: Secure underground car park available. Issues Encountered Our room had litter on the floor and a very wobbly, unusable table—surprisingly overlooked by housekeeping. I reported this at reception and it was promptly fixed when we were out. More seriously, the shower only produced either cold water or a trickle of hot water, making it impossible to take a proper shower. The hand basin also had very poor hot water flow and made washing in hot water almost impossible. Communication with Management I emailed the manager, Dao Zoric, and his assistant twice late in the afternoon regarding these issues and, in the second email, requested a partial refund given that this did not reflect a four star experience and did not fulfil the description of the room facilities. I did not receive a response. I again reported the water flow issues to reception before breakfast, The staff member at reception staff was understanding and came with me back to the room to see for themselves the problem before I checked out. Further emails have been exchanged, though the manager has since declined any goodwill gesture and threatened that my negative review might result in a future booking ban. This is a very odd position to take given I am offering an opinion based on my experience. After the series of unfortunate events during my stay this is an empty threat as I would not, of course, wish to stay here again. Summary While the hotel had some positive features, the attention to housekeeping and hot water issues significantly impacted our stay. There were other minor problems that cropped up that did not enhance the experience. The manager's dismissive response compounded the frustration.

Dear Mr. Watts, As we discussed on multiple occasions, solutions were offered to you upon your arrival, including relocation to another room as well as an upgrade. This solution, which could have addressed all of the issues you encountered, was unfortunately directly declined by you. Our team acted promptly to resolve your concerns. To remind you, you arrived at the hotel at 14:46, reported your issue to the reception, and the problem was promptly addressed. Then you emailed me at 17:15 to file a complaint about an issue that had already been resolved and alternatives that had been proposed but rejected. Unfortunately, our hotel does not operate under commercial threats, and we have full confidence in our teams to resolve any issues, as they are available 24/7. Furthermore, it is important to note that you reported the water issue on Monday, two days after your departure. A technical intervention could have been proposed, or alternative accommodation could have been arranged if you had reported it during your stay. For reference, here is your initial feedback verbatim, dated Friday, September 19th at 17:15: "Feedback I booked a one night stay, Friday 19th September. I was very disappointed, on entering the allocated room (107) to find a piece of litter on the floor and the small table in the room so poorly assembled it was unusable. There is no way your housekeeping team could have not noticed this. This is not the attention to detail I expect from this level of hotel. A member of staff at reception fixed the problem whilst I walked around the city during the afternoon. I will, naturally, leave a review in the appropriate place reflecting my experience." It seems that you were more focused on the potential threat of leaving a review rather than enjoying your stay at our establishment. You could have also requested a refund, which would have been approved given the circumstances, and found alternative accommodation. However, you chose to remain at our hotel and enjoy your night before resorting to further commercial threats. Given all these factors, we have decided not to welcome you back to our hotel in the future, to avoid any further inconvenience. Kind regards Dao ZORIC - Front Office Manager

4 stars hotel ?? Where did it get it? During the WW2? Rooms to small. Toilet big enough to have air to breath and far away from the sink on the bathroom to wash your hands. Corridors not so clean.. Room furniture good as a 1 star hotel in Germany. The hotel accept animals but that means when you eat you breakfast you can find the dog tail in your coffee mug...the hotel accepts the animals, but that doesn't mean the guests should suffer from that.. What if I'm allergic from the animals? Someone want to bring them in hotel far enough, but not where other people stay or eat.. Hotel accepts them, but that doesn't mean they can slip in my room. . There are some positive points as well.. Nice staff,. Good breakfast..great location.

Pets are allowed in the hotel's public areas, but under no circumstances do pets interfere with breakfast meals, and our staff are happy to point this out to their owners. We stayed during the Olympics so it was expensive. But our room was brilliant - massive for the 3 of us. Location is great and easily walkable to the metro and main square. Lots of restaurants, bars and cafes nearby. Staff brilliant, so friendly. Parking secure and reasonably priced

Surprised that this hotel has 4 stars. Our bathroom smelt very bad like sewage. We had two rooms and we could not close the bathroom doors in both which was pretty poor. The beds were fine and the rooms were small. All in all the room was quite outdated and the furniture a bit weird we had a table with wheels placed randomly on the room which took up lots of space.

The outstanding features include private parking, a good location, and a devoted team. The area is very quiet though centrally located. The breakfast is good and diverse though veggies are missing. Ours was a family room on two floors - the first was a sitting area and a restroom, and the second was a bedroom and a bathroom. This is what makes the split layout problematic - after using the restroom, one should ascend to the second floor to wash hands, or if one wishes to visit a bathroom during the night, he has to descend and then go back up, which makes it potentially dangerous on a staircase when sleepy. Other than that, it was a very good stay.
