We spent one night in this hotel before taking the ferry back to Ireland. The hotel has reserved parking and is ideally located being very close to the ferry terminal while at the same time within easy walking distance of the town centre (with excellent shopping). in addition, just accross the square from the hotel there was a Carrefour Hypermarket so we were able to top up our supplies of beer, wine and other necessities. We were welcomed to the hotel by very friendly and helpful staff at reception who indicated where we could get a small meal close by as it was just outside the normal period for lunch. We stayed in a Junior Suite on the sixth floor which had an excellent view of the inner port area, where a nice Swedish sailing ship was berthed, as well as a view over the city centre. The room was comfortable with plenty of power points, comfortable bed and good shower. As we were tired, we decided to dine in the hotel restaurant that evening where we had a nice relaxing meal. All in all this was a most enjoyable experience.

Very comfortable, nice big bed, access througout for disabled very good, plesant staff throughout, very good breakfast choice. Very easy access to very large shopping complex next door no noise problem, main town just across a bridge from the hotel, great view from 5th floor bedroom overlooking the nice docks.

Excellent location for town centre and Carrefour - just across the plaza. Our bedroom was on the 6th floor (No. 609), the view was excellent. The bedroom had poor lighting and this was particularly true of the bathroom. A very well equipped and comfortable bedroom. Staff at Reception were exceptional. We speak French rather well after 16 years of lessons, we appreciate when staff do not expect to address us in English, 10/10 here. Plenty of free parking during our visit with disabled spaces and electric charging spaces An excellent last night, difficult to beat in Cherbourg.

The hotel is located in front of the old harbour. Agreable and confortable rooms. A private carpark with contolled access is available free of charge. Quite environment. The city center is accessible on foot where you can find quality restaurants ; you simply have to cross the port on the footbridge in front of the hotel. Good value for money.

Mercure Centre Port Hotel - our 'go to' hotel in Cherbourg

This is our 'go to' hotel in Cherbourg. We have been staying there for about five years and the standards remain consistently high. Bedrooms, as well as common areas, are scrupulously clean and very well maintained. On this occasion we were fortunate to be allocated a room upgrade with fantastic views to sea and over the port - but all rooms provide excellent views here. The Mercure breakfast is also particularly impressive, providing for just about every requirement! Overall, a great short stay in an excellent hotel supported by very good team.
