The stay in Novotel Guwahati was a mixed experience of good and bad. It started with bad only. The room we were given after check in was not properly cleaned. There was sticky stain all over the floor and couch, most likely alcohol spilled by previous guests, we had to call housekeeping and get it cleaned immediately after check-in. Again, next day for a programme by Assam Police, they closed their parking to their inhouse guests without any prior information. So we had to park our car outside near a temple and for accessing our car we had to walk there with our luggage. Later also, the housekeeping service was not proper, like not emptying dustbins properly, not cleaning the rooms properly. They have two restaurants, but the restaurant providing a la carte service is located in a sepearte buidling located beside. Location is also not good. Due to ongoing construction of a new flyover there is heavy traffic one need to face throughout the day during entry or exit from the hotel. Food was good. Overall it was a mixed stay.
