나는 이번 여행이 정식적인 베트남 나트랑의 첫 가족 여행이였다. 그러나 불행은 여행 마지막날인 10일차에 호텔 프론트 직원에게서 시작되었다. 나는 아코르 플레티넘 멤버로 늦은 체크아웃을 하고자 출국 2일전 프론트에 문의하였고 프론트 직원에게 오후5시에 체크아웃을 해도 된다는 말과 함께 카드키를 다시 프론트로 가지고 와서 조치를 받으라는 요청을 확인하였다. 당시 룸키를 가지고 있지 않던 나는 시간이나는데로 프론트로 카드키를 가지고가 조치를 받겠다고 하고 다음날 프론트로 카드키를 가지고 가 조치를 요청하였으나 늦은 체크아웃이 승인되었으며 카드키도 이상 없다고 통보받았다. 하지만 여행 마지막날 오후 1시 50분경, 나와 아내는 출국전 마지막 스파를 받기위해 오후 2시까지 스파장소로 이동하고 남은 아들(12살, 9살) 2명은 호텔로 돌아가 쉬려는데 카드키가 먹통이여서 룸으로 들어 갈 수 없다는 전화를 받아 스파를 받으려고 이동 중인 나와 아내는 다시 호텔로 돌아가 아이들과 만나서 카드키를 다시 받아 프론트로 가서 왜 안되냐고 했더니 왜 카드키를 가지고 와서 조치를 받지 않았냐고 대뜸 무안을 주며 조치해주었다. 난 그때 너무 황당했다. 난 호텔 프론트 측에서 말한대로 와서 조치를 받으려고 했는데 프론트 직원 한명 바뀌었다는 이유로 인수인계가 안되어 고객에게 응대를 하지 못하고 예정되었던 스파도 늦어서 늦은 시간만큼 페널티도 받고 무엇보다도 스파를 받고 와서 다시 이야기하자고 그 직원에게 말하고 다시 찾았지만 프론트 근무시간이 지나서 퇴근했다고 말하며 대수롭지 않은 척 프론트에 남은 직원들의 퉁명스러운 말투에서 체념하고 나는 프론트 사이트 매니저를 부르니 그때부터 미안하는 말하며 대응하는 모습... 나는 사이트 매니저를 부르기 전에 단지 미안하다는 한마디와 함께 사과만 받았다면 이렇게 까지 하지 않았을 텐데. 내가 여행와서 내가 돈쓰고 기분 나빠야할 하등의 이유를 모르겠다. 이비스 스타일 나트랑 프론트 직원들에게 한마디만 말할께! 나도 어느 국가의 기관장으로 직원들을 관리하는 사람인데 너네 처럼 고객들에게 퉁명하고 불친절하게 응대하고 직원들 인수인계 자체가 없으면 다 해고시켜버려! 더불어 관광객들은 대게 본인이 묵은 호텔이나 리조트에서 겪은 일들이 그 나라의 이미지, 그 호텔의 이미지로 각인된다는 것도 명심하기 바래! 적어도 우리가족의 호텔 이미지는 최악이였어. 잘 알기 바래!

베트남 물가를 감안해도 저렴한 가격이었고 위치도 훌륭하여 도보로 이동 가능했습니다. 새벽 1시쯤 체크인하는데도 친절하게 맞아주었고 뷰도 좋은 곳으로 해주었습니다. 다만 객실 내에 올인원 샴푸 1개만 있는건 좀 의아했습니다. 그래도 호텔이면 샴푸, 린스, 바다워시가 구비되어 있어야 좋을 것 같습니다.
