Good stay for a week, central location

Stayed here for over a week and cannot complain. Clean room, good shower, good breakfast. It is easy to walk to the beach, a small mall next door and a bigger mall towards the beach. Plus plenty restaurants around. Only skipped the breakfast once on a Sunday as there was a long line, all the other days there was no wait.

Each time I come to Santos Sao Paolo I stay in this hotel not only for the location and great view also for the Great Services special in the FrontDesk, I want to mention Giovanna and Luis they made a Fantastic job the same Ana.The evening workers are so nice.

I have always had good experiences with the Novotel brand. Having stayed at multiple properties worldwide, I appreciate the consistency in quality, comfort, and value for money that the chain typically offers. However, my stay at Novotel Santos – Gonzaga was deeply disappointing and, in many respects, did not align with the standards I have come to expect from the brand. Upon arrival, the valet parking service was efficient and reasonably priced at R$35 per 24 hours, which I consider fair. The hotel’s location is also a strong point, with easy access to the beach, bars, and restaurants. At check-in, I was assisted by Roberto, whose service did not reflect the level of attentiveness and professionalism I usually receive at Accor properties. I was informed that I had been upgraded to one of the hotel’s best rooms, supposedly as a recognition of my status. However, upon entering, I immediately realized that this "upgrade" was nothing to be appreciated. The room's condition was utterly unacceptable. A strong musty odor was immediately noticeable, and upon closer inspection, I found extensive mold stains on the walls, ceiling, and even in the bathroom. Not only is this highly unpleasant, but it also raises serious concerns regarding hygiene and air quality. The flooring was in a deplorable state, with visible warping and rotting in several areas. The curtains were riddled with holes, rendering the blackout function useless—morning light seeped through, disrupting sleep. The windows were so dirty that they completely obstructed the view, diminishing what should have been one of the room’s highlights. Cleanliness was another major issue. The bed linens and pillowcases were visibly aged and stained, something that should be unacceptable for a four-star hotel. Basic amenities were also lacking upon arrival—there were no drinking glasses, coffee and not even shampoo, all of which should be standard. The room's facilities were equally disappointing. The television was outdated and small—no larger than 32 inches—without smart functions, and the hotel did not even have an HDMI cable available at reception. Considering the room’s overall condition, I cannot help but question how this property maintains its four-star rating. If this was one of the hotel’s "best rooms," I shudder to think what the standard rooms must be like. Despite these shortcomings, a few positive aspects deserve mention. The service at the bar was one of the few highlights of my stay. Although the bar itself is quite simple, with a minimal setup, the experience was elevated by Igor, whose exceptional mixology skills and warm personality made the visit worthwhile. This was, without a doubt, the worst Novotel I have ever stayed at. The level of deterioration, the lack of attention to detail, and the uninspiring service at check-in made this a frustrating experience. This property has great potential, but it requires urgent improvements to align with the standards expected from the Novotel brand.

Hotel is really well located and close to the beach! Service is great and great room with sea view! Close restaurants where you can enjoy during the day and night, you have the option to choose between lot of cuisine as you have Mexican, kind of English pub style nearby and Japanese and Lebanese, all located in walk distance by the street side of the hotel(Rua Tolentino Filgueiras) you will find all there. Well worth it!

I am an Accor member and usually stay at this hotel. As I got to the hotel, the nespresso machine of the lobby disappeared. As I got the room, I noticed body lotion was no longer available. Next day, we leave for the day and as soon as we get back at 5PM, the room remains untouched. No housekeeping.
