The hotel staff were very good and went out of their way to accommodate me in a twin room. When I was unwell they even got me some honey. The hotel was clean and beds comfortable. It was nice and warm and cozy. The continental breakfast was good. There was free on site parking which was very convenient.

Was a good experience for the price. Own parking as well at the front and back of the hotel. Bed was very comfortable. Would book again if I was in Bham again. Hotel staff very friendly too. On a good busy area. There was an event going on with loud music but it was over by the time we came back.

Stayed the night here for work and expected much more given the sign at the front was advertising rooms at £102 a night. Room was an ok size, and the bed was comfy enough but creaky. The TV wasn’t working but I got in quite late so decided I’d go without (I did tell the receptionist when checking out but she barely looked at me and had ear buds in so not a clue if they did anything about it). The room was a little too warm for my liking, even with the window open but sure some would have liked it. The bathroom was looking for tired. Cracked and loose tiles, the mirror light didn’t work, and the shower unit controls got stuck so it was boiling hot water or nothing.

We arrived at Ibis Styles Hagley Road in Birmingham at midnight, so technically it was on Monday, February 13, 2023, checking in was a little weird because although we reserved two rooms, together, on Booking.com, the receptionist wanted us to pay for them separately, which one double room turned out to be slightly more expensive than the other. Other than that, payment and checking in went smooth. The reception area, including the bar, is very welcoming, decor and furniture are modern and chic. One of our room, 117, was on the first floor and the other, 311, on the third floor, which created some inconvenience but we made it work. The lift is old, slow and shaky, so are the floor boards in the passages. The rooms are small, and felt smaller than other Ibis hotels; overall, it is fairly clean. The shower was the best. No complaints there. Housekeeping is ok. One day we required a clean and it was done thoroughly, the next day when we did not require a clean, housekeeping still cleaned, but left no towels and the bed was not made fully; not sure what that was about. Unknowingly, breakfast was not included in the price, although we paid Four Hundred and Forty-eight Swiss Francs for two days. Breakfast was seven British Pounds per person, but was definitely not worth it; limited options on everything compared to other Ibis hotels, where we have stayed in Birmingham, London, Paris and where we had never paid extra for breakfast. Another inconvenience was our room keys, for some reason after leaving the hotel on the first morning, our key cards did not work upon returning, and had to be reactivated; having to bear that slow lift down to the reception area again was irritating. Tizzy, one of the receptionists, is being acknowledged for being courteous and assisting us with a taxi when we needed it. Overall, the stay was ok, but this particular hotel cast a shadow of doubt on the Ibis brand; it is of a boutique style compared to the others.

Una de las pegas que ponerle a este hotel es el tamaño de la habitación, demasiado pequeña, es bastante complicado moverse por ella, la cama, aunque muy cómoda, ocupaba la mayoría del espacio. El baño en comparación esta bien. La ubicación es otro punto en contra, esta un poco alejado del centro, aunque hay que decir que tiene paradas de BUS en la puerta, que pasan cada cinco minutos y el trayecto es corto y fácil. Un punto a favor es el personal, muy atento y amable.
