Thankfully only one night

I was only looking for one nights accommodation that was centrally located and had parking. It ticked all those boxes. The outside is extremely dated and I did wonder where on earth I had booked. Check in was quick but not massively welcoming. The room had one overhead light, dark paint and made the room gloomy , on arrival the heating was off as was the towel rails, don’t really expect to have to adjust valves myself. The room was large but only had two plug sockets, like really?! a bathroom fan and light up mirror that didn’t work and it was dusty. The bed was comfy, third floor and river view meant it was quiet, although sound proofing needs massive improvement I don’t need to hear my neighbour flushing or peeing. Breakfast and room service was very good

Good central location but expensive parking

Mercure Inverness is a great location in the centre of the city. I had booked a compact double and it certainly was compact. I think some may have struggled to get through the very narrow front door. The heating didn’t work and was very noisy! My main objection was paying £12 to park in the hotel car park surely this should be complementary or just a small fee. We found a car park nearby which was only £5 for 24 hours so should we return to the hotel we wouldn’t park there. Otherwise it was a satisfactory stay. The bar area was nice in the evening

Excellent Location and Service for an Inverness City Break

This hotel is perfectly situated for exploring Inverness, right in the city centre. It's incredibly convenient, just a short walk from the train and bus stations, making it easy to get to, especially if you're arriving by train - it feels very 'modern' in that respect. There are plenty of restaurants, bars and shops on the doorstep and the beautiful River Ness is just across the road. On-site parking was also available, which was a big plus. The check-in process was particularly smooth and welcoming. The reception staff were consistently professional, informative, friendly and efficient throughout our interactions. We particularly appreciated the assistance of Jo, the Assistant Reception Manager, who really went above and beyond. She proactively provided clear directions for parking, ensured our rooms were ready promptly after parking, and diligently reminded us to register our vehicle number plate in their system via the provided iPad. The hotel also conveniently offers WhatsApp for any assistance needed during our stay. As Accor Platinum members, we were delighted to be upgraded from a Classic room to a spacious Privilege room on the top floor, overlooking the river. A thoughtful greeting card and three Ferrero Rocher chocolates awaited us on arrival. The room itself was clean, well-maintained and well-equipped, with comfortable beds, quality bedding and good towels. We were treated to a lovely view of the river and even a beautiful sunset from our window. While the central heating was effective at first, we found it switched off on our second day; apparently the hotel felt the weather wasn't cold enough to warrant it, which was a minor point. Housekeeping kept the room reasonably clean throughout our stay. A potential downside of the central location is night-time noise from the street, bars and general late night activity, especially at weekends. The soundproofing isn't perfect, although being on the top floor helped to reduce the disturbance somewhat. During our stay we explored some of the hotel's facilities. The restaurant and bar area offered reasonably priced food and drinks. A dinner we had there was nicely presented, and the bar impressed with a well-stocked selection of local whiskies. The hotel itself has a generally nice decor, with some distinct Art Deco elements in certain areas. However, while some parts feel updated, other communal areas look a little dated. It feels as though the hotel could benefit from a general refurbishment to bring everything up to modern standards, unless the management specifically intends to maintain a more 'classic' ambience. Overall, this hotel is an excellent choice, especially for its unbeatable central location and the genuinely helpful and professional service, especially at reception. The comfortable rooms, especially those with river views, add to the appeal. While the noise in the area at night and the mix of modern and dated décor are points to consider, the comfort and positive interaction with staff make this a strong recommendation for a city break in Inverness.

The hotel, internally, has a slight Art-Deco feel to it, which is nice. The room was spacious, clean, well equipped with a large comfortable bed. A water supply to the shower and the shower gel and shampoo smelt really nice!! The only gripe we had about the room was, as ever in all hotels, the were plenty of sachets of coffee but only a couple of (very good quality) tea bags!! But a quick call to reception soon amended that!! Talking of reception..... Jo. A friendly, amusing, attentive, charming lass who made us feel very welcome and special. Nothing was too much for her. A real credit to the hotel. The breakfast choices were varied and the Full Scottish Breakfast was perfectly cooked. Had an evening meal and it too was very nicely presented. The bar was well stocked with a delightful supply of local whiskies. All the staff were very friendly. Thank you for our stay, we will be back! Phil & Gisele.
