Grubby, dated and rude staff

Initial check in with Becky was great, excellent service. It all sort of went down hill from there. After check in, I got cajoled into leaving a review in return for a glass of prosecco, despite only just checking in. This "review for a drink policy" continued through the night as waiters in the event were touring tables offering shots for reviews. One waiter even shouted at a colleague for not including his name in her review. I had to visit reception to reset my key and i walked in to the guy behind the desk shouting at a guest. Got up to room and immediately regretted my "prosecco review" earlier in the evening. The room is big enough but grubby. The carpet was heavily stained, the kettle had grime on it. My view of the Christmas markets below should have been beautiful. Instead, I had a filthy, broken window with permanent condensation. The bathroom had painted tiles, many of which were peeling, some looked like they had stickers on them. The absolute worst was discovering dried blood on the inside of the toilet roll. Would not recommend, would not stay again. Was not worth the money for the room and i absolutely would not rate it 4 star.

Such a lovely hotel, me and my partner drove up and was so easy to get too, the service when you walk in is fantastic and the staff are amazing, special mention to Cheryl who served us, she was so polite and got us a free glass of Prosecco on arrival. The rooms are clean and a lovely view. Would come back again!

Went here for my works Christmas do. Food was pretty poor, really overcooked. The Prosecco I bought tasted really cheap. The music was not my taste. The hotel seems quite dated. I wouldn’t book here again. On the plus side the staff were friendly.

Paid £57 for a 3 course meal for our Christmas party. The service was ok but running massively behind schedule and when it came it was like school dinners. Could have made something much better at home. Very disappointed with this experience.

Booked 5 rooms for works Xmas party , our room was full of condensation windows do not open ! Went to put belongings in the safe and it wasn’t screwed down so informed reception that we needed a room with a secure safe said someone was on there way waited 30 mins stil waiting and by now late for the start of the party . Eventually someone came & said we will try and find you a room with a secure safe ! Should they all not be secure I replied ! So we had to leave all our belongings for the colleague to move later to another room & take cash out with us ! Take it up with the manager in the morning I was told .The following morning the system was down so nothing was sorted & advised to email the reception manager . Not really what you expect from a 4 star hotel
