Stayed in January 2020 for 3 days. Pool good, room ok, restaurant service has strange rules about where you could eat and not all restaurants were available. Staff try to be helpful. For an Accor hotel the systems are very poor - check out took a very long time as they couldn't find the credit card machine, the machine would then not print receipts, and most importantly the booking confirmation on the Sofitel system said credit card payment had been taken and there was nothing to pay, but then later they find the system did not take payment. This creates much confusion and aggravation when they look for payment once you get home! One would expect much more competence from an Accor hotel. So a good hotel, let down by unexpectedly poor systems. Double check their paperwork!

Very friendly and professional staff. Hotel was beyond expectations. Hosted a company golf tournament and pool side dinner. All expectations were exceeded. I will certainly be coming back in the future.

Great stay apart from the last night when about 1am someone came into the room, having been given a key that opened my room door. He excused himself and left but it is worrying from a security point of view that it could have happened.

This is a very nice hotel, however the staff needs a serious customer service training, starting by the staff in the reception. They are not courteous at all, and somewhat clueless about their duties. The morning I was checking out, I had an 0800 flight, thus by 0550 I came to the reception to check out. There was nobody to take care of me, after couple of minutes a sleepy guy came to process my check out. While checking my invoice, I noticed a charge of a meal for 107.00 CFAs (that is over $200.00 usd) meal. I requested the invoice to be revised and to show me all the receipts of the meals I have signed for. It took him over 10 mins to get the receipts. Another gentleman came in trying to explain to me why that was my charge, without evidence. Finally they verified that charge didn’t belong to me, and issued a new invoice that to this date I am still not cleared on what I was charged for. When I try to pay with the rewards hotel voucher, they refused to receive them, claiming I can’t use the vouchers there. It was already 0620 and I had a 30 minute ride to the airport. At this point, I had no time to enter a discussion with these gentlemen to accept my vouchers, nor to get a clearer explanation of the total charges, otherwise I would have missed my flight. In the bar, someone named Robert I believe, I wrote down in the receipt a tip of 4 usd, to what he said, “you have to give me this in cash because the hotel is not going to give me anything”. I was disgusted by that comment, and reluctantly gave him the tip in cash. The following morning, my dad and I had a coffee and some pastries. He brought the invoice and I gave him 20,000 cfa (around 40 usd.) the bill was something like 12,000…he said you have to sign, which I did. After 5 minutes, I noticed he started to take care of other customers and I was still waiting for my change. When I asked for it he said..”oooh, I thought it was a tip!! “ HELLO???!!! A 40.00 USD TIP FOR A 20 SOME USD COFFEE AND PASTRIES???, you must be kidding me!!! and yes….this is the same guy who asked me the day before for a tip in cash. I don’t think I will stay there again.

Dear Anyini, First of all let me express my sincere apologies for all the unpleasant moments that happened during your stay, on my behalf and on my team. All management team from Sofitel Sipopo Le Golf, works daily to train all the ambassadors of the hotel, in art de vivre and French recevoir offering a cousu main service that goes beyond the expectations of all our guests. I deeply regret the misunderstanding suffered while staying at the hotel bar and upon check out in your departure. I can assure you that the service offered to you is not the usual service we give to each and every one of our guests. I supposed you have seen the high numbers of excellent comments on tripadvisor and that is maybe why you chose Sofitel Sipopo. Now, after carrying out investigations, would not be the slightest doubt about the lack of professionalism of my ambassadors. As you said you have been extra charged for no reason and this amount will be definitely returned to you. I hope anyway you enjoy the rest of your stay. It is just a pity you did not ask for the duty manager who would have solved immediately your problem without allowing you to leave the hotel with a bitter taste. Obviously you are saying that you would not come back anymore to the hotel nevertheless let me offer you my email address and ask you to come back to experience another week-end: The service you experience is unacceptable and I invite you to be my guest another week-end and I am sure you will post another tripadvisor review in line with the other 270 reviews as “Excellent”. Again thank you for telling us exactly what happened, it is the only way for us to improve. Again, accept my sincere apologies. I remain at your disposal. nice luxury hotel, just base in the middle of no were land, great view, the beach the place can be great for a short term visit, if you plan to stay longer you'll get bore out of your mind. i stayed on a weekend when there were not activity going on. but am sure there's a lot event happening there every now n then
