One of the best Ibis hotels that I have ever stayed in, the room was spacious compared to other international Ibis hotels, the bathroom also sized well compared to my room size and they give complementary tea/coffee/two small bottle of water for free. The Wifi was fast and accessible all the time i needed it to and the A/C is freezing cold :D Also, they have dedicated parking for the hotel secured by CCTV cameras (although its very safe area) and the hotel located infront of The Kingdom Tower / Mall and at Alolaya street which is prime location for cafes and businesses. I will never consider any other hotel when I'm visiting Riyadh next time, its cost effective and for me its 5 stars facility. To be fair, the restaurant/cafe is normal compared to other 5 stars hotel but for biz trip its more than enough.

Overall very good experience staying in this hotel. Free wifi. I have met room cleaning and maintenance staff Afzal from India. He is very helpful and soft spoken. Breakfast in the morning is really amazing. Many Indian staff. Felt really comfortable and felt as if in Indian hotel.

This is the second time I’m staying longer-term at Ibis Olaya Riyadh. It’s been really great! All the staff are friendly and helpful, making me feel like family. In particular, Mahabub in housekeeping is fantastic, so thorough, conscientious and professional. The reception staff are great and Sarah always goes out of her way to help me. The restaurant is good, I really enjoy the breakfasts. The staff are friendly and accommodating of my allergies. The location is great, with the Kingdom Centre right across the road which is great in the Riyadh Sunmer heat!

Basic hotel with acceptable rooms in good location.

Stayed here for 3 nights. I was in Riyadh for a conference. I had not realised just how busy the hotels were going to be during this week, because of the conference and other events. Virtually all the 5-star and 4-star hotels in the city were sold out for my travel dates. The only rooms available were some presidential suites at ridiculous prices, far off hotels, or some apartments (which had received bad reviews). So I decided to stay at this hotel (at 3 times the usual room tariff) as this was one of the last hotels that still had a couple of rooms available. The hotel, as one would expect from a 3-star hotel, was quite basic. No separate shampoo in the bathroom, a soap dispenser each for the sink and the shower.. the slippers tore after wearing them for 2 hours, the room had a view of large air conditioning units nearby. The gym was literally 2-3 machines with no weights, and near the staff area of the hotel. The front desk staff and housekeeping, however, were quite efficient, and the room was acceptable. The location is also good. It’s next to Riyadh bank and 5 minutes walk from Kingdom Tower and walkable/short-drive from some good restaurants. Paying 5-star prices for a 3-star experience was always going to be disappointing. But I can’t fault the hotel for that. One should ensure their travel dates aren’t clashing with large events in the city.

Unacceptable smell of old cigarettes

Perfect location, nice staff, quite large rooms as for Ibis standards and incredible smell of old cigarettes in my non-smoking room, spreading probably through air condition system. I was not aware that there are still hotels offering rooms for smokers. For me a no-go. I will not stay there again.
