I booked the hotel as I needed an accessible room - in that it was good for a one night stay although the decor is tired and shows wear and tear the bed was super comfy - the bathroom I found was very warm and a notice confirmed that if door was open there was a risk of steam setting of fire alarm There is currently an issue that the lift does not serve the first floor where the bar and restaurant are located - I was pre warned about this and it did not bother me as I had plans for the evening and breakfast - it is unclear how long the issue will be a problem I would say it is a great base located centrally close to shopping and transport at night the locality can be busy and noisy

Dear Dawn, Thank you for your review. May I firstly apologise for any disappointment felt during your stay. I do apologise for the issue with the lift where there is fault preventing it from reaching the first floor. All going well this is being fixed this weekend as engineers have now managed to source the part we have been waiting for. Indeed, leaving the bathroom door wide open while showering could potentially set off the fire alarm due to steam reaching the detector within the bedroom. It is always advisable to close the bathroom door in any hotel when showering and closing it behind you when leaving the bathroom until the steam has settled. Your feedback about the decor has been noted and will be shared with our owner. We are planning a full refurbishment in 2025 which we are extremely excited about. We appreciate your feedback which is very well received and will be used to assist myself and the team making any necessary improvements to our product and service standards. Stayed in privileged room 402 very dated room carpet worn away was woken up at 8.30 am with workers taking down scaffolding outside room having reported to reception on check out just got a reply nothing we could do about it really well situated. will not be back .

Great staff, facilities and location - disappointing room

Hotel bang in the middle of nottinghams vast number of pubs clubs and restaurants. Lace market car park only a very short distance away. Upon at 8pm on a Wednesday, hotel appeared welcoming with 2 extremely polite and helpful guys on reception. Room 409: Very small - although a double, glad I was on my own as would be a squeeze for two Main light didn’t work so very little light in room. Air con not working so very old noisy heater left on desk as alternative. Good size bathroom which was very clean but sadly No plug so was unable to have a bath. Only one plug situated nowhere near bed location of plug and size of room made it extremely hard to make tea and even harder to iron my clothes. Quite a lot of noise from doors and corridor throughout the night along with very noisy water pipes. Big gaps in curtain and under door so lots of light through the night. Also smoke detector emitting bright white flashing light intermittently all night. However, bed and pillows extremely comfortable and appeared very clean. Restaurant was lovely and clean, breakfast was very good fresh selection with helpful staff.

Since November 2023 we have brand new AC / heating within the rooms and we have checked room 409 to see that it works completely fine and without any issue. I am sorry should you have had any difficulty with the controls. Our team are available 24/7 and would have been delighted to assist with the controls to reach the desired temperature you required. I do apologise for any missing plug in the room and thank you for bringing this to my attention. I apologise for this not having been identified prior to your arrival. Not a nice place to stay

If you're planning a business trip or perhaps any trip this isnt the place for you. The decor is tired and dated, the room had damaged furniture with chipboard showing through broken laminate. The complementary ear plugs were a nice if unusual feature and were unfortunately necessary due to noise from surrounding establishments and night clubs. The smoke alarm flashing bright white intermittently through the night was a reassuring feature as the age of the building makes a good smoke fit for the doors difficult to achieve. It did not however help for a restful night. The TV was difficult to use and there are no instructions in the room The management attitude is largely dismissive both on the night and subsequently. Definitely a place to avoid I am glad it wasnt my money that paid for it.

Constant noise from the air ducking outside of room window this problem is so bad they even leave earplugs in room for you this should be made clear as a advisory also lots of work men outside on scaffold from early hours after a terrible night trying to sleep
