This was my third experience at an Ibis. The last one was at Kochi. The Kochi property was excellent value for money. I booked this one in Chennai with similar expectations. I'm not sure if I should say I was disappointed or not. The pros: Excellent location Great service by the reception staff. Lovely lady named Anjali was especially helpful. A gentleman named Krishna made sure my check in was quick despite the long queue... There's a touch of genuineness in the staff here.... there was a staff named Shobhana who kept a toddler entertained, even carrying him around, so the mother could eat in peace..... Room service and requests for top ups of tea, milk sachets were quick.... The rooms are minimalistic. Clean lines, uncluttered. Earthy tones of brick, beige and light browns.... Excellent mattress, duvet and pillows. Great reading lights. Ceiling lights were at the right level of brightness. Great AC. Great value for money on breakfast, with something for everyone, including some lovely ginger masala tea. Great choices for Vegans. I couldn't help smiling at a dish of soupy Maggi noodles in the buffet line .... Great choice of TV channels. SEALED bottled glass water bottles added a nice touch. Cons: This specific Ibis has seen better days. The bathroom disappointed - chipped floors, mold on the mirror and floor skirting. The sink tap/faucet had been placed at such an awkward angle, water splashed around everywhere except into the sink. I spent a few minutes cleaning the mess I made, each time I used the sink. One of the window curtains, dislodged off its rail, hung dismally. When I walked in the wooden panel beneath the TV seemed to be dislodged. I had to push it back in, in case it came off. There was dust behind the room door.

Staff was very helpful with queries as I was new to the city. Anjali from the front office helped with keeping my luggage while I was out after I had checked out from the room. Breakfast was very good and well priced for the variety. Highly recommended.

The service was good and amazing , the room still need a lot of improvement as the quality has degraded, but overall it has been a good experience and Anjali at the breakfast buffet was kind enough to provide me really good service and also attended to others really well.
