Pullman Lijiang Resort and Spa

The location of the property is perfect. The rooms are big and spacious. Great mountain view too. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. The front desk manager Ms. Nicole is the sweetest. We were there to celebrate a special occasion and she made sure everything was perfect. She even offered a room upgrade. She was available 24x7 to help us. The breakfast is great too.

Rough go… Couldn’t find reservation at check-in. Then room not ready until after check-in time. No extra blanket available for our son. Broken outdoor furniture and water stains inside. Two hours to get ice. Breakfast ok. Location not really walkable to either Shuhe or Lijiang. Though the setting is lovely with Mountain View’s, the bed was comfortable, and our son enjoyed feeding the ducks and rabbits, the overall experience was underwhelming. It seems like the staff is overstretched and maintenance required. This will likely be our one and only visit.

This hotel did have good points: the setting is nice (see picture of the (zoomed in) view from our balcony), our room was clean and a decent size, and the staff were friendly, helpful, and efficient. It was not a dreadful place to stay. However, Pullman is supposed to be an upper-end international hotel group, and it lacked the polish that we had anticipated on that basis. On our first evening, we went down looking forward to a cocktail before dinner and then a nice meal in the Western restaurant. We found the bar unstaffed; on trying to order cocktails in the restaurant instead, we found that they had run out of gin! (The following evening, we had excellent gin cocktails in Baisha, a nearby village so small it had cows walking down the main street, so it doesn't seem like there's a general gin drought in the area of Lijiang.) On trying to order sparkling wine instead of cocktails, we found they did not serve it by the glass; and having given up on a preprandial drink and opened the Western food menu, we found something that looked like the menu of a cheap British hotel chain. At that point, we left to eat outside the hotel, and did the same on subsequent evenings too.

Durante il nostro viaggio abbiamo soggiornato in questo magnifico albergo, stanze molto grandi e fornite di tutti i comfort compresa macchinetta del caffè Nespresso, bagno molto grande, cassaforte ecc. Lo consiglio a chi passa da queste parti.

Nella mia vacanza a Lijiang ho soggiornato qui, ed è stato davvero bello. Mi è piaciuta la camera... ovvero, la casetta. C'è anche la piscina riscaldata e, visto che ci siamo stati in estate, non faceva tanto freddo, anche a duemila metri d'altezza. I ristoranti sono molto belli, però alcuni contengono cibi troppo "fritti", che mi hanno fatto venire mal di pancia. È stato abbastanza accogliente e una macchina dell'hotel è venuta a prenderci direttamente dall'aeroporto, che dista circa un'ora dall'hotel. E basta che lo chiediamo alla reception, possiamo avere un autista che ci porta da tutte le parti, anche sul monte (e poi basta che paghiamo un po' di soldi). Non è lontano da posti da visitare, come la Città Vecchia: ci siamo arrivati in qualche minuto in carrozza (era davvero carina). La camera (sì torniamo a parlare di lei) ha tante cose, come gli umidificatori e la TV ha tanti canali, sono riuscito a vedere quello della National Geographic! Mi ricordo che durante la colazione ci hanno dato un foglio dove dovevamo scrivere se gradivamo l'hotel, e abbiamo scritto nello spazio apposito anche il nome della cameriera preferita. Non è stato facile, dato che tutti quanti erano bravissimi e soprattutto gentilissimi. Ve lo consiglio, questo hotel, è uno dei migliori della città.
