Over priced, cold, uncomfortable stay. 2 lifts only 1 working took forever to have it work creating frustration. Might as well have been a party hotel for the giggling, gaggle of grown women roaming the corridors shouting, laughing on several occasions as they were not in the same rooms. The room was cold and stayed that way even though I put on the heating system to 25 degrees Celsius, I slept in my clothes. The toilet cubicle was so small you had to have the door open. The separate shower cubicle was in the bedroom and when used caused moisture in the cold space; the water was hot and had a good flow. The city noise did not affect me as the room was on a higher floor. What really peeved was that I had walked for a good hour trying to get there. The name had been changed and then again so no-one could give directions. Google maps did no better. Fortunately I was not the only person searching for the re-named Budget Ibis (don't waste your money) and they helped. The staff were not apologetic. The television worked well.

The only recommendation I would make for this Hotel is that the polite reception staff get jobs elsewhere. The room was dirty, in the corners, mirror above the sink. Pillows were stained (I had to wait for a cover as they had run out and look at the stained pillow ). The shower is next to the bed as is the small sink opposite. The room was tiny. All of these things were noted before I went and had a lovely meal at The Teal Monkey. Sleeping was not easy but the rude awakening at 5AM by what can only be described as screaming banshees (who sounded well above the age to know better!) telling their friend "We were concerned" after she obviously had a successful night in Filthy McNastys Next Door (really!) did not add to the experience. No I would not recommend to family's, solo's, sober adults. Anyone missing a club 18-30 experience enjoy!

A Budget Hotel with Noisy Pub on Their Tail

Great location, close to almost everything. The morning reception staff were very helpful and you would love to talk to them. One guy from the reception even stored our luggage before the check in time. It was much appreciated. The room was small, no place to keep your luggage, but I have stayed in smaller places, so no complaints there. Breakfast was extremely limited options (simple continental with no cooked or hot food option). Also, they don't give tea, coffee options in the room, and you definitely can't have them from the reception. Forget about the previous reviews, those are not correct as the very sour faced an evening reception staff told me that they do not offer such thing. Sleep quality is very very poor, like everyone else I would like to talk about the McNasty's was the name of the next door pub I guess?! They were loud till 2 pm. Loud music was the only problem I would like to point out, because drunk people will be drunk and irresponsible. You can't get proper sleep, that's the point of this talk. Oh! And coffee from breakfast was great! So, 4 points will suffice from me I guess.

Budget Ibis

I associate the Ibis group with low cost budget hotels, well the ETAP is classed as a budget Ibis. Basically, you get what you pay for, a small room, small TV, a comfy bed and a small bathroom. They used to offer free tea and coffee in the reception area all day for guests, but now it is only up to 10am. There are no tea and coffee making facilities in the bedrooms which even for a budget hotel is poor. Also,no bedside tables! Staff friendly enough. Close to a pub which plays loud music into the early hours, we could hear it on the 6th floor. Overall,if you want a no thrills,budget hotel where you spend minimal time in your room, and just want somewhere to crash then this hotel is for you. Would we stay there again? No.
